Poor Cody is bundle of PTSD and terrible self-esteem: "chastisement made me wonder if perhaps I was to blame for my mother abandoning me the way she did?" Death of some can be a blessing for others.
Brock should listen to her: ""It's important you validate his point of view, Brock. That way, Cody will be more open to discussion," she commented." This is good serious subjects to address. A+

Well written, You do dialogue well, and your transitions among different narrative points of view allow the reader to follow you without difficulty. It's an interesting story.

Hello Brett Matthew,
Your image does go well with your writing.
Earl Anthony Schroder met the death that he was handing out to the rest of the world. So horrible. Thanks so much for the read. yours, diana

As always your writing is great. It's very natural, flows really well, like there's no effort at all. I have to work so hard on the book I'm doing and then it kinda stinks. I'm starting to wonder what I have done. =} I don't do these kinds of book and maybe it's not my thing. Oh well, now I have to finish the stupid thing. I think my next chapter will end with, there was a big war, lots of fighting and death and dragons and the good guys won. The End. and put myself out of my misery. =]

Anyway sorry for rambling on, the story is great. I was reading about Bee Bo so have to go back and finish it to see what happens. Great writing. =}

Hello, I can think of some nasty names for that Earl. My goodness, what a predator and you have been through a lot as this is biographical. The ending is good and leaves us wondering. I also like your dialogue which I always find realistic in your stories.

I saw no errors, and thanks for sharing this personal account, Ana.

Hi, Brett. Maybe I read this out of order. Probably you are referring to the previous episodes because in this chapter, Cody is reflecting on Earl. But, we still do not know WHY Cody fights. Or, did I miss something? Good job. I enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing

    Glad you enjoyed this chapter. The answer to the question of why Cody fights will come out in another chapter soon to follow.

This is a definite six stars - which I unfortunately don't have anymore.

I devoured the narrative, the strength of the character coming across not as one moaning their hellish life and unfairness in the world but as a person, young person, whose attitude is that "it is what it is, take it or leave it."

A truly strong chapter here, Brett.

"Women and children. I don't (know) which is worse!"

An Abuser can destroy a child's affection and make the child have a negative life. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.

This is sad reality for many children and your story highlights their plight. Children become adults and these rememberances never fade and form part of their personality. A shocking well written write which entertained me, love Dolly x
