Good job at a description of awaiting inspiration while one assures all others that this is a minor bump which is not necessarily so.

Yes, I'm afraid this would amount to more than a minor bump, and with no words, the check would have to go back. LOL! Thank you so much for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

Is this a dream? I'm sure having the pressure of writing for a paycheck probably causes more cases of writer's block than writing for pleasure. I would love to get paid to write, but wonder if I would love it as much if I had that pressure of being successful hanging over me. Good luck!

I'm afraid this is one of those situations when we can make fun and have a good time with as long as it isn't us involved. And, I'm sure the advance would have to go back. DARN IT! Thank you for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

I wouldn't mind a deadline and I wouldn't mind the advance as well! This is a great little 5-7-5 writers block entry, well done. The picture goes well too, I'd be laughing if I had the advance, LOL. Good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

The clown's laughing inside, and taunting on the outside knowing he already has the check in his account. Thank you so much, Sandra Mitchell, for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

A lovely photo of a clown that complements your tiny poem perfectly. I enjoyed your poem too, funny you mention payment in advance. You did pay well. Best wishes for the prompt.

This is very clever, funny and creative. With writer's block screwing everything up, being paid upfront is a blessing. The picture is perfect for bringing the message of the poem to life. Best of luck in the contest.

Fun! Your words are so true to the idea of writer's block. The illustration certainly gets our attention.Good luck in the 5-7-5 contest.

This 5-7-5 about writers block, Big Whoop, is super funny as it turns the table on the idea of deadlines. Great to be ahead of the game when a road block appears. Fun.

So you are going to use the advance from your publisher even though you have wrtirer's block. Naughty Naughty. I think that the speaker think of something
before the deadline, though.

Writer's block can seem like a practical joke sometimes.

Good luck and keep writing

Yes, writer's block definitely feels like a practical sometimes. LOL! I'm sure I could never really keep the advance, but at least this situation would make you feel ahead for a little while. Thanks for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)

Thankfully it has not happened to me yet, though I do not know what happens when one gets it. I do admit to wanting a few days break sometimes, but not sure it means writer's block.
Nice expression in line with the image.

Good luck.
My best wishes,
RGstar

Thank you so much, RGstar, for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. All in fun, but I'm sure the laughs would end when the advance check had to be sent back. :-)

Here's an author who knows the way around deadlines. Ensure the check is banked and securely in his hands. Then a date and time become just that. Writer's block is a legitimate excuse for this clown. Of course, few writers of any quality will get the check and then declare such a mental stoppage. Great entry; fun read.

Yes, it's fun to laugh about writer's block and getting to keep the advance, but I'm sure he wouldn't be laughing nearly as much when the check goes back. LOL! Thank you so much for taking time to read my poem. Your kind words and generous review are greatly appreciated. :-)
