A very compelling story told in a poetic verse that includes war drama and fear of flying trauma, in its well presented imagery of personal courage. Well done!

Flying can scare a lot of people but when you have a history of war and stuff like that it can only heightened it. We're talking about taking a big vacation in the coming years and we're undecided if we want to fly or drive cross country. We have plenty of time to figure it out. I like driving because I think you get more of the road tripping experience and have more memories to make that you miss out on in a plane but I'm good doing either one. Great job

A wonderful story of overcoming fear. It's amazing what we can overcome with the right motivation. I really love the emotional and visual effects that you have rendered through your words. Well chosen artwork to compliment the story and the incorporation of the name into the story was a plus, tying the two together. Best wishes in the prompt.

A beautiful victory poem. For in the end you overcame the thing you feared, flying. I liked the style and the message it related to the reader. Very well done.

This is a lovely contest contribution. You have artfully converted a story in prose to a beautiful poetic free verse. You deliver an inspiring read about overcoming. I wish you all the best in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

The best part of flying for me is at touchdown when the wheels hit the tarmac...I always have an involuntary smile. Till then I am on panic button should there be the slightest shudder.
I have been away a while with a few difficulties, good to see you still here.
Have a great day, my friend.

I went to an art show in Malibu and they had an aircraft like the one in your picture with the painted artwork--what a coincidence! It was reassuring to hear the stories of how you and your father overcame your fear of flying. Your "photographic recording" analogy was original. Best wishes in the contest and sweet dreams- Joan

I have no more stars to give.
Wow I'm very proud of you.
You captured my attention from the start.
I still have a few thing that's holding me back
. I know that fear can set one back.
one day i will beat the heck out of those little fears.
