This is a well done poem on overcoming. Somewhere within us is the ability to hear God's message to help us. As they say--He doesn't abandon us, we abandon Him. When we open our ears and our eyes, we can hear and see again. These are the best lines for me:
"And yet somewhere, so deep, so dim,
I glimpse, a flash on hope's bright rim,
then, unannounced, a dazzling light,
lit up my soul, redeemed my sight."
Amen to that!

Hello Roy;
-I think I have been where you have been out of the light and walking a tight rope in darkness. I really like how you perceive and explain, especially these troubles, and a different perspective than I would have. Your metaphors are really well used and relative to your feelings and emotions.
-Use the excellent rhyming and rhythm of iambic tetrameter and used great enjambment also.
-I really like how you overcame your deceptions and troubles by turning to the Lord's graces.

The only way we can overcome sin and it's shame is through

Excellent

Vaguely reminiscent of Pilgrim's Progress not in form so much as in content. Very much the song of the Penitente, scourging himself ritualistically. I find this "Mea Culpa" qute a poerful piece. I also liked the alliterative and consonant content.

A very spiritual poem about corruption and sin. We all have been that road, except Jesus Christ. I think you always give your opinion about good and evil and a biblical reference. Also, your poems are well-written.
