Well,
A noble position to take - but you need to read Ayn Rand's :The Virtue of Sefishness: - all of your needless self-inflicted laments start with the word :I: and without this word :I:, the seemingly strainful statement (as Rand would point out) of :I love you: makes emotional and logistical sense only because it starts with the word :I:. The sentence does not read: :You: , because of you, my love exists. In other words without the element of :I: our love does not exist. Don't belittle yourself. Because of me/:I: our love can exist. - Lobber

The sentiments here in these stanzas are truly so uplifting - one sentence in particular stood out 'Life's trials and tribulations/ oft time sets our heart in stone'-

Great piece you have crafted here for your reviewing audience. You hit the nail on the head, my friend. Some words are definitely hard to say, but mean so much when said.
God bless
Steve

Man finds it hard to apologise for anything. We all make mistakes, some intentionally. I liked your true words, at one time we were taught to say, "I'm sorry," now it seems it is in the too hard box. "Forgive, so as ye may be forgiven," saith the Lord.

A strong reminder in a poetic form that we all need to work on civil apologies as often as possible. It reads well with perfect rhymes. I would suggest checking more places to use punctuation; for example: on lifes rough and rocky road
would be more correct:
on life's rough and rocky road
Favorite line was close to the beginning: "with your conscience on the run." Nice read.

There is so much truth in this poem. It is so difficult to ask for forgiveness and to say I love you. For me, it is tough to say these words because I feel too exposed and vulnerable. This is a truly great poem!

You have another winning poem. It flows well and the rhyming is excellent. I like the way you wrote about life's trials and tribulations
that set our hearts in stone.
