I'm not as old as you but I have a few miles on me, I'm 66. I feel your sentiments. You've had a life well lived, just don't be in a hurry to go home. It's better to be here than...well... somewhere else. Be happy and healthy.

Nice poem. Strong message and well-chosen words to make an impact on the audience. The rhyme gives the poem a nice rhythm easy to follow.
One small comment: in "preparing for lifes final", I think you need to add an apostrophe, "preparing for life's final..."

Whew, I'm so glad I read your notes, LOL! I was a bit concerned, sheesh! SO glad you're not. I'm just getting to know ya :) Great rhyme and strong message. Its poignant content made for a bittersweet read. Again, simplistic presentation flowed well and worked well in this short, poetic feast of emotion. Nicely done, dear.

This poem flows seamlessly and makes it a pleasure to read. It's a wise man that can reflect on his life and be at peace. I really like the way it is worded such though it gives the reader a calming peace. Well done!!
