I sure didn't expect you would kill off Cody. This was a very touching chapter Brett, I can't say I enjoyed it because I was quite fond of the idea of that little boy. He was a keeper.
Now I suppose the assassin will go after Beth. Good job. Nancy

"I also realized all the words I still wanted to say to him would remain unsaid." (That's the hardest thing to live with I think.)
" Then it was securely sealed and lowered into the ground along with our broken, unmendable hearts. " (Very, very powerful imagery here.)
Very nicely written and the imagery is brilliant, albeit terribly sad.

this is an excellent write, brett, I must have missed the chapter between the last one I read and this one as the last one I read had bee bo in cody's room but didn't have him killed yet. I enjoyed reading this chapter.

This is a stunning chapter, Brett. You bury that boy with great compassion,
and the showing of the process from hospital to grave via Brock Daniels
personal actions, thoughts and words is really excellent. Mind you, I can't help
but feel we're in for a shock involving little Cody. That said, I want to repeat
what I said before.. The combination of first person narrative voice via Brock,
with third person perspective involving Bee-Bo, just doesn't work. Brock simply
can't know what BeeBo knows. And you've chosen Brock as your principal
voice. I hope you sort it out. Nevertheless everything else is great.
