There another great addition to your story. I feel connected to your characters and find myself hoping for Cody to awake too.

Another great chapter you have here,

There is no end to the anguish a parent feels when
a child is laying helpless and unconscious. You only sleep from exhaustion. Cody will come out of the coma when his little body heals to a point he can stand the pain.
Well done. Nancy

This chapter reveals the anguish that Sheriff Daniels. When you love someone, especially a child, it can take a toll on the health and state of mind. I don't like the thought that he will resign his Sheriff position. He is a good man and really good for the town of Astatula.

Brett, really like this story that you are developing. Well done my friend,,,,,,,,Jim

Sheriff Daniels continues his vigil beside Cody's bedside. He doesn't let anything deter him from his job of guardian. Once more, he muses about what he might have done to prevent the accident, and about the fallout of what the boys did.
Great story, and I await his recovery with bated breath!

Glad you enjoyed this portion of the first chapter. Seems everyone is rooting for Cody to fully recover. Wouldn't it be tragic if he did not? Just a thought. Your comments and support appreciated.

Hey Brett I was wondering if this is fiction or nonfiction book I live in New Jersey to Asbury Park Press about 6 weeks ago posted to front page court case where it's a four-year-old battle over bed on that was under a bed for 9 months it was loaded and shot of six year old that was in the house that was not related I was over $500,000 settlement Florida family which of course will not replace a 6 year old child I'm a firm believer on no weapons in the house unless you're locked up and kept on loaded and only if you're a hunter we don't need to protect yourselves with Firearms are other ways to do that of course so give me your thoughts on that and I could work here with this thanks Ricky 1024

Hi Brett,

This was another great addition to your story. I enjoyed every word of it and hope that Cody will wake up pretty soon too. He is a wonderful boy who cares about others and many of them care about him also.

Yes, it would be terrible if Cody couldn't wake up from his coma. Then who would you write about? Kat

I'm with Beth on this one. I'd worry about the Sheriff's health, too. He's wearing himself out sitting, watching, waiting for Little Man to wake up. But what's a dedicated man to do?
