This poem really explores the emotions as it glides through the activities of the world with both an upbeat, probing rhetoric, followed by a HAD IT... KILL THEM ALL attitude that blooms from the crap of which one has had enough.

Yes. I was listening to the music and reflecting on the events and this is the result. You have it pretty much on the money. mikey

Thank you, Michael, this is powerful, beautiful, and needed to be said. You did it forcefully, honestly and with great craft and talent. Loved it. My heart is with Orlando, LBGT'S in countries where they are thrown from buildings to death just because of who they love. I believe in a Karmic world and I hope these foooookers get it ten fold.

Wow, Mary. I'm so pleased with your response and I couldn't agree more with your every word. It's just awful what goes on. How can love be wrong. Well, Karma will level things I'm sure. Thanks so much. mikey

Five stars 5. Poet speaks of evil coming out of river and attacks us without warning. Evil all-around us in daily lives but we must be strong. Review mine also. Liberty Justice

I feel so sick inside at what's happening in our country, it feels like things are skewed horribly. I mean, who could imagine even ten years ago that mass killings would become commonplace, and that Donald Trump would be running for President and not getting kicked out on his ass? I'm relating those two things, the mass murders, and the Trump thing, because I think that low-minded demagogues like Trump get people scared and riled up. He gets them to believe that MORE GUNS is the answer, keeping Muslims OUT is the answer, building walls between people is the answer. I think that terrifying things are happening here and I don't like it. The language of hate spreads hate...I'm with you, we need to spread love, not hate. Kick the NRA off their pedestal so that our legislators can stand up to them.
Now I feel small minded for posting an ode to my microwave...meanwhile you were writing this. Well-said. It's a rant, but at times like this, we need a rant!

We agree across the board one hundred percent. What I don't understand is how anyone could possibly come to any other conclusion. But apparently they do. Jeesh, it astonishes me that Trump is the nominee of the Republican party. Wow.
Don't worry about you microwave piece, it's a delight You're one of the one's who spreads nothing but love and joy with your pen. I'm a good ranter I suppose. It gives me something to do. LOL Im' thrilled you're on the same page with me. I'll meet you for a walk on the beach later. Ooops. too far....

How true!
We can write words of hate or hope and love. There will always be haters, but why give them fuel for their fire? Hope and love can snuff hate out.
The world needs a shit load of therapy!

I can't listen to music and read. Music brings other thought/images. However, I can create to music if I'm stuck for an idea.

Peace and Love,
:) e

Yes, I can write while the music is playing like I did here, but once it's written I can't read it while the music plays. I know exactly what you mean. :))
Fuel is the word, I agree. That's what the words are to a tee, fuel. Great insights. Thanks, mikey

So true, why do we judge some love as good and some love as bad? Who are we to think we have the right to decide that, and why would we even care? Hate is not the opposite of love though, indifference is the opposite of love.

Hate is an emotion unto itself and the ferocity of envy associated with hatred does activate the ancient evil amphibian lizard within us as you so aptly stated. In the dead of night through the stillness of bog this swamp gas slithers, attempting to envelope all that is good and beautiful.

When people are acting irrationally, they don't listen to reason, logic, or even common sense.

And until they snap out of it, irrational people can be unpredictable and even dangerous.

As reptiles, aghast slinked past in slippery silent stealth, working behind the curtains of darkness to deliver hate.

but you say it's written down
IT MUST BE SO

From that irrational belief a single person armed to the nines with automatic weapons murders fifty innocent people who were just going about their lives and not hurting anyone.

We are responsible for what we write and when we poison the simple minded throngs of followers with no convictions they are transformed into hate/killing machines and the blood is on their hands too.

Excellent! We should think before you hate and write another word that helps decide the fate of someone innocent. But don't they simply fabricate reasons in their own imaginations to justify their actions?

Anyway sorry for going on so long, but you deserve it for writing such a long poem.

Tres bonne monsieur. This is a poetic treatise to a more considerate humanity.

Ange.

You so clearly state what I more or less fly off the handle about, Angel. Yes to your every word. Indifference is a word I forget and you are so correct, that is the word that should be at the fore, not hate. It is the precise word that needs to be addressed as you point out. Hate suffices in this context, but indifference is the true enemy and the culprit that sways an otherwise benign crowd to follow the wrong path and the wrong thinking. I hope that after reading my ramblings that folks will stop by and read this concise synopsis to make sure they truly understand the issue perfectly. Thanks so much.

"We never did figure out the magical wind and where it came from and where is it going? And where is it taking the words I wrote? " Beautiful. It matches the music.
The poet seems to question love and mistrusts, but mistrust seems to reign here, or he would not have written the angry words in red. The site is a place to express the deepest of feelings, but the anonymous nature creates mistrust. Why can't love just be love? He asks. It is positive that he ends the poem with love.
I do not understand the part about the people without choices and repercussions of this as violence. In my humble opinion, everyone has choice unless coerced or choice has been taken.
You are asking someone here to observe the words that you have written...those that may leave on the wind. If you write these generically in poems..does she know?
Again, asking for others to act in love is positive.

    Hi, Nika
I do agree we all have choices, but it seems like people are unwilling so often to make them and they are EASILY coerced and I suppose that's where my anger lies. In the end, I truly wish we'd all just embrace love and leave each to their own. I'm not sure if I help or hinder that. Help, I hope. I always enjoy your thoughtful insights and reviews. Thanks so much for really thinking and responding. mikey

Hi Michael--5 stars for you and free speech. I want to believe that, in this poem,
you are not angry. You are just expressing your feelings of how you wish things were. But am I right? Are you reasonably mellow with the side of the debate you have chosen? I hope so. When I got to the red writing, I wondered if the tone was going to change and it seems like it did get a little angry, but I wondered if it was just the fiery color. Then I expected the green on the last line again. I live way out in the country and don't see people for days on end, so am a little out of it. My friend in GA had to call me about the Orlando shooting b/c I spend all my time on fanstory and netflix and youtube. I must really like to review, b/c most of my reviews are long laugh Thanks for a good passionate read. GoodHearted Woman

Yes, it is what I wish. I'm sad more than angry and I just want all of us as artists to realize that every word makes a difference. You have a lovely spirit that shines through. Thanks so much for your kind words. We'll be okay. Love wins, yes? mikey

It takes a lot of experience and maturity to ignore what others say and think (and do) but it must be done to rise above the ignorance and judgmental behavior. Rant on until you purge yourself of the words you write. That's what I've done and I can't find anything wrong with anyone or anything except for my own attitude....John

Well put, John. I think it has to be put out there. Leaving things unsaid is no answer. Agree or disagree, let's discuss. That's a start anyway. Thanks for the great insight. mikey
