Hi Ine! I'm sorry I'm late. I didn't open emails until late tonight! I'll try to be more vigilant. This is great, tho I sure don't like winter myself! Tonight it's sort of warm, and I'm up listening to the 'quiet' ... for once! No planes and all that. For now anyway. Keep up the good work! x

It's always nice to have snow; not always nice to have the consequences. However, I don't mind a blizzard as long as it doesn't take out the energy in our homes. Thank you for sharing this honest and humorous poem, I enjoyed reading it.

You're welcome.

I agree 100 percent with your assessment of winter. If you have plenty of food on hand and indoor project to keep you busy, being snowed in can be fun. That is, as long as you don't lose your power.

This is a lovely ode to winter, It made me feel cold just reading this! Your words conjured up an asthmatic, who can breathe clearly in winter. Blizzards welcome? You are one in millions! Good luck in the contest and warmest regards, Marijke :o)

A very well-written ode to winter. Apart from the uncomfortable cold at times. There is much beauty to find in a winter scene. We don't see snow many times but we love it when it does.

You are one sick puppy. Who can love the slush, the cold, the snowbanks and perpetual colds. Ugh! But, what the heck, the prompt requested an ode, signifying some poem of praise, so it's unlikely to attract people who can spew in the negative side--like me.
Your entry is very pleasant--if I try to see it from your POV. LOL/

This ode to winter, aptly named Winter, has a positive look at the chilly season. I know summertime makes it tough to breathe for some. Good to have relief, for sure.
