First, let me congratulate you on one of the most wonderful moments in life - the day you meet your first grandchild, truly a blessing.
I loved your story poem. I was just somewhat confused by the presentation - is there a reason certain words of the text are in bold while the rest isn't?
Regardless, it's a beautiful poem. Best of luck in the contest.

Thanks Dawn, I did go back to the authors note and put an explanation because several to ask the same question, and several have indicated that it helps them with the reading for meter. I must confess to you that writing is emotional for me. I have no idea why my writing is more emotional than most other areas of my life. As you may guess, Brelynn is more emotional to me than most of my writings! So it?s with a special sense of appreciation that I thank you for your wonderful five star review. It?s only been the last couple of years that I have attempted to write because I?ve never been encouraged to do so. I want to thank you so very much for your kind words of support, and the gentle words of correction. I need both to help make me the kind of writer with broad appeal. May God bless you! I've yet to have the pleasure myself, although I have four boys, all over the ages of 24, and a 19 year old daughter.
None of them are married, so that's a good thing.

Having grandchildren is an exciting experience. Enjoy them all you can. I raised three of my five grandchildren. That I really enjoyed, but it was sad our daughter wasn't here to raise the. Now I have two great grandchildren whom I see nearly every day. Congratulations.

Joyce, thanks for taking the time to share your personal experience with grandchildren. As a backdrop to the story our son and daughter-in-law lived next door with their three children and we see them almost every day as well. Now Joyce, I'm going to tell you a secret that you must never tell my grandchildren. My wife and I are really enjoying the six weeks that we have to ourselves as they are presently in Florida for the summer. (If you do tell them, I will disavow it.
