Congratulations on the impending arrival of Brelynn! Your poem is a sweet celebration of life, and acknowledgement of all the huge life changes coming.
I appreciated your notes especially because I just came from my stepson's graduation. He got his Doctorate in Phys. Therapy. We were able to listen to his final presentation and watch him walk up to get his diploma. Yes, I lost it during the ceremony -- just so proud of him!!! So why do we cry? We're complicated beings, that's for sure.

Your delight in being prospective grandparents shines through here and I wish you all joy! I really would't bold out the words you want emphasized though - it's a little distracting. If you're writing in meter, then that should fit into the natural speech rhythms, rather than straining to 'train' us how to read correctly??? You must have done a pretty good job though, because I automatically put the emphasis on most of the words you'd chosen. :)S

I've been writing Lyrics and songs for a long time, but like you serious poetry for only a relatively short time, so snap, some more common ground, I'm rather emotionally instinctive myself, but we both love God, and seriously love offspring, I want them to know their God as well as I know Him, I want to leave an inheritance in God, as do their parents, and every little bit helps, your writing is good, but will be, with God's help be much better, it is brilliant knowing a fellow pilgrim, blessings, Roy

My wife and I will be living about 75 miles from our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. That's not bad because we have roads that go from our house right straight to theirs. The grand daughter is in Community college and the grand son is a senior in high school. because of problem in my daughter's life, the grand daughter has lived with my wife and I since she was about eighteen month old, mygrandson has lived with me his entire life. I get to see them every day, they are much more my kids than ther are grand kids. Of course I love them both dearly. My wife and I had already raised two daughters and a son when we became parents of youngsters all over again. Yay ...
As for your writing, you must keep at it, over time you will improve if you give yourself the chance. That is the beauty of this site. Learn from what you see and like and before you know it you will be writing killer work.

Writing lets us bring the emotion into words. It is safe and we can take the good and the bad from our minds and release them onto paper. It is freeing. I totally understand the emotion behind writing. I am not one to show a lot outwardly, but I will on paper. Keep writing friend!
