Holy shit, michael. What in the world got into you? This is amazing and it actually comes together at the end. It is like a car with no brakes hurtling to doom but SURPRISE it has brakes after all. I will be reading this often. Good to see you sre still too damn much!! NG

Blathering was a specialty of our man Walt. You capture the essence of his style, yet what little Whitman I have read seems to be devoid of women and lust. Excellent Whitmanesque practice...

Absolutely awesome, stunning work here. Very lengthy, but so worth the read. I loved it. So much imagery and such great flow to it. The artwork is really enjoyable, as well. Meaning Explored - It isn't a Legacy, is my favorite part of this exceptional work. This is a truly incredible poem...should do very well in the contest! Wish you best of luck. God bless and hugs, Susanne

I haven't read Walt Whitman since college, but your poem about the dance, or drudgery, of life leaves much to ponder about, Mikey. Excellent use of visual phrases of nature and man's survival, love and faith make for a gem of a read.

"Different strokes for different folks." All needing to live in harmony, to share with those who choose to be with us, to avoid the indifferent, uncaring, and angry. The cycle spins, the colors melt, and then they blur and disappear. Thanks for sharing another fine read. :-)

"those giddy day's legacy"...
Oh dear if this is what I have to do Saturday, you can carry on without me.
Quite a story in a poem going full circle and yet if both were full of something, can they lay together peacefully? NO

Oh no, no one ever has to go this far off the deep end. HAHAHA! I'm sure Walt Whitman is rolling over in his grave saying, "That's not something I'd write!" If they had enough sense to discuss it they could work it out. Of course, they're just like humans, so you're right, NO. LOL mikey
