As I've advised others, there's always something to write about, as you've revealed, a missing muse is a good subject. There's always politics, whatever god one is fond of, or write about...nothing, the universe is full of it. Beautfully written in articulte 7777 quatrains and abcb rhyming, well done blessings, Roy

The iambic pentameter and the rhyme scheme create an interwoven, brightly ringing music in this traditional quatrain poem. You have a simple image of climbing that poetic hill, with your aspirations, and then rolling down the other side, maybe not quite sure you achieved all your aims. Much like life. estory

This is such a fun read---fun because I totally identify with the loss of those brilliant phrases I didn't need to write down because my memory would not fail me.

Humility is good for the soul-my soul is very healthy:)

Love it. I've been there when my muse wandered out the window or crawled down the sink drain hole. For days it will allude me -- and then one day it appears, quietly sneaking into my consciousness like cats sneaking up on a careless bird. Snag it - hold it tight - good luck in your hunt.

I love this poem. I can relate to all these sentiments as my muse went awol a short while ago. My muse then popped down from the hill to tempt me in the middle of the night, but floated away before I had time to put pen to paper. He/ she has now become more of a presence so I hope I am not all washed up yet!

Well, JayBird, I'd like to know the person where the words will not stop. However, this poem does not give me the impression that your muse has abandoned you. At best, she's just playing hide n seek. I liked your poem a lot. Happy Valentine's Day.

This is a well-written poem. I definitely don't think your muse has left you. Your writing is too good. Maybe your muse is just on a short break. Love your rhyming! Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure she's still around...maybe just hiding ;o)
Great flow and rhythm and telling of a simple story.
The "Recognized" and "All Time Best" awards are well deserved!
