You just won the gold with this two four two. It does not get any more real than this. Way to go my friend. Wow-ah. This rocks for real.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This work is striking in it's visual effect and poetic content.

I cannot really identify anything that I would say could be improved upon. I have no way of knowing if the author took the photograph or was simply inspired by it but either way it is especially timely.

I wish it was available for purchase.

The picture came from FanArtReview and they are for sale (I think my search word was WWII). Thank you for the appreciation and fine rating. Good luck in your writing.

There are many days etched into our minds
Pearl Harbor, Sept. 11th, and D-Day, and more
You've done well with this short form
Excellent ironic title
As good a poem as can be written
in eight syllables
Perfect presentation
Well done
Good luck in the contest

Not easy to get a three-way rhyme that works as well as this.

You have used the trick of writing on a story that everyone already knows to get around the limitations of only having 8 syllables to work with - good thinking. I also like the irony of your pleasant sounding title, which is dispelled by your words and even before that by the sombre picture.

This should fare well in the contest, but with this form it's a bit of a lottery, so good luck.

Steve

As much as we see or hear about it, these many years later - none of us can imagine what it must have been like to BE there. Only those brave fighting men - young boys, really -- can know what that dreadful place was like. A great entry for the contest. Good luck!

Boy, have you perfectly paired picture & poem.
You have graphically defined the essence of that tragic day in lines 1-2.
The last day says it all so succinctly, reminding us what we need to do June 6.
