Hi Jay. This is an excellent piece on not achieving one's goal by climbing over others to get there. As they say, we meet the same people on the way down as on the way up. But there is nothing wrong with striving to achieve our goals as long as done in the right way. We used to take pride in our achievements. Now it's almost an embarrassment because society sympathizes with underachievers. Marilyn

"It's lonely at the top."
It's one thing to be kind, gracious and respectful as you claw your way to the top. You'll be successful and you'll be able to sustain your success through dedication and hard work
It's an altogether different thing to belittle, degrade and trample on people to reach the summit.
Success may come, but it will be fast and fleeting.

So true, so true, Jay. What a poignant and timely writing, dear. It's full of insightful pearls of wisdom and is quite precisely rhymed to boot! Excellent insight regarding those who spend their life clawing their way to stardom, per say, and those they step on all along the way. Sometimes, the view from the top isn't as breathtaking as the journey. Excellent writing.

An interesting and honest perspective - when you reach the top there is nowhere to go but down.
Sadly, many people get lost on their way to the top and don't understand that concept.
