This is an amazing poem, one that seems to require several readings for a full interpretation. I especially like your phrase:
"pierced yet still in love"
Do you think that perhaps you need an apostrophe on "Hopes"?

What a strong expression of faith and beautifully presented. I read this earlier, and had to wait for my six stars to arrive as I felt they are well earned with this devotional piece. You've used considerable poetic technique. The enjambment flows freely and is most effective in providing continuity. The alliteration, assonance and consonance works well and is not over-done. Wow! This is awesome. I too write inspirational poetry and short devotionals and I love words that make me think about our Creator. You do an awesome job showing the contrast between faith and doubt while describing grace and mercy. I can't speak to the technical attributes of poetry only what speaks to my heart and this calls loudly to my spirit. Thank you for I have been "reconciled."

me too....-smile-...it encompasses "everything there is". Nice to meet you Ginger...yes, of course "if" the "great If"....that brings us all around sooner or later...what "if" is real. What "if" there were Hope....what "if" Someone loved "that" much...what "if" I were created for a perfect purpose. What "if" I've missed it...? Great artwork that complements your poem perfectly. I thought the title to be very original. It has a lot of alliteration and metaphors too. Maybe I missed those in other poems. It is a free verse.

I love the collection of words and imagery in this prayer-like poem peppered with well-loved Bible verses. It makes a powerful statement in a modern way. This poem would probably also work if put to music like a hymn.

thanks...yes it is put to the music...I write them listening to song thats with the poem. I guess there were it starts...i'll hear a song that sparks memory or hope for, and then just let it out. Appreciate you man. love to you michael
