This story was so heartwrenching and moving, and happy in a way. You expressed your emotions well. Thank you so much for being brave enough to tell this story, and best wishes to you.

Thank you so much for your kind review and for your comments. I don?t consider it bravery to tell my story I consider it being an active God that allows me to tell it, and how he brought me through everything that happened to me during the story. I know that I did the right thing because of the fact that he has blessed my life so profusely through the years. Thank you again for your fine review.

It's a beautiful story! And I remember the story from the Unshackled episode. I'm so sorry that your mother gave you such a hard time but you did the right thing to save your son's life and give him up for adoption. God provided you that perfect husband and three beautiful daughters afterwards. And He brought you into relationship with your son!

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my work. I know who did you probably remembered the story when you heard it on the unshackled. That was one of the reasons I was able to write the story is because I needed to write it for, the script writer.

This is a touching story, Patricia. I'm glad you chose life for your baby and were able to make contact with your son. It's really special that you visited him, and he later came to see you. Thanks for sharing your story. Blessings. Carol

Hi Pat. What a wonderful story! The writing is superb and clearly tells the events. I couldn't put it down! I am so happy you were able to reunite with your beloved child. We aren't always in control of our circumstances. Thank you so much for sharing. xoxo Kiwi

Thank you so much for your kind review, and the good wishes that you have included in the review. That story is one that was very hard for me to write but I knew I had to write it.

It is beautiful story Pataricia. I know it had be terribly hard to give him up for adoption but sometimes we do what we have to do. I would think an adopted child would want to know about their birth parents. He is a nice looking boy. I can't imagine turning down a baby because he was too large. My last child weighted 10 pounds. My parents said I weighted 10 lbs. I would want a larger child because they are likely healther.

What a remarkable and brave story - especially as this is the first time you have told it. There are so many even worse stories of young women losing their new born babies. The Magdalene Laundries of Catholic Ireland are a colossal tragedy for thousands of unmarried girls, and a slur on the church and the state. Some of those cases are still not closed today.
On the other hand, thousands of good people genuinely believed they were helping to place children at risk with secure and loving foster parents. But the subject remains very fraught, and the search by mothers like you for their children has not always been successful.
Thank you for telling your story, Pat. I imagine that it will provoke a lot of response from members of Fan Story.
So glad that you found Bob after all those years.

Thank you so much Paul for your excellent review. Also, thank you for the six stars. I have told family members before I wrote the story, but it was not published until later in life. When I had to write it. Patricia.

Wonderful story and repeated by many other with somewhat similar stories. I ahe a friend who recently found the daughter that she gave up for adoption. The last paragraph is a little bit cumbersome...just maybe me as the reader.

You have told the story before, but not the details of the delivery and your specific feelings. Dwight Douglas, after Eisenhower and McArthur, two names from history, indeed. Well told.

Hi Patricia,

This is a very touching story. You had to deal with an awful lot. I'm happy that your story had a happy ending for both you and for your son, Bob. Many years ago they did things SO differently than they do now. An unwed mother was whisked away, gave birth, came home, and everyone had to pretend that it never happened.

The part of the story that really grabbed my attention was that your arms were tied down and you were not allowed to see your baby at first. That must have been horrible for you. I can't even begin to imagine what you went through at the time.

Isn't that odd that the initial potential adoptive parents refused adopting your son because he was too large? One would think that they would be happy with a big, healthy baby. Very strange. It is nice that you and your son's adoptive mother are now friends ... WIN/WIN for everybody!

Thanks for sharing your story, Patricia.

Well done!

Connie

What a lovely read I really enjoyed and can only imagine the trauma you must have gone through having to give up your baby straight away. Then I could imagine the joy of seeing him after all that time. wonderful moving story thanks for sharing.
