You do such a great job of showing Cody's feelings. He is so afraid he may have to go back to Palo Pinto, and really wants to stay with the Sheriff. Cody seems to relive all the bad experiences he had in the past, and that is certainly enough to make him feel insecure. Sheriff tries to reassure the boy that the judge will decide in his favor. You leave us at quite a tense moment, just as the judge has called for Cody and the Sheriff. Great work. judi

I am glad that the Sheriff shows him his compassionate side via hugs and stuff because they are seen as bad guys so often and if they remember a nice act they tell their friends. Good chaptering.

Hi Brett,

You sure are writing your story fast, which is great because I like reading each chapter. I was almost crying for Cody imagining how scared he is to see the judge and hoping he won't have to be with the kind of people he lived with before. Of course I'm looking forward trying to guess what the next chapter will tell the reader.

Great chapter. I did start a review for this on my mobile but it was not enough FS said. So here I am back again. So glad I never had to deal with molestation as a kid. Keep up the good work.

Gripping story line. Anytime a child is involved, my attention is riveted on the situation. I felt for Cody, I so admired the sheriff for his comforting presence. Looking forward to the turn out in the judges chambers. Hopefully Cody will not have to return to a life of abuse.
Well done,
:-) Carolyn

Your story is interesting, my heart goes out to Cody, it sounds as if he has seen and experienced things that a ten year old should be protected from. The story is well written with a nice flow, the characters are narrated very well and appear to be real. This is an enjoyable read, thanks for sharing.

Courtrooms feel overwhelming to anyone especially youths who have been through a lot. I feel bad for Cody........ thank you for sharing again.

What I don't understand is why this stranger found out about Cody, who told him and what the reason was.
Again we wait and I love the anticipation you create with each ending

Deputy Taylor was the varmint behind this whole scheme. But, getting slightly ahead of ourselves there. Glad you are enjoying this story and staying with me on it. Your comments and support always appreciated.
