Hey, girl, on your 1st pg. I think you meant to write 'bringing' a paycheck...

Ick! From a corpse. LOL - funny remarks about that.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this chapter. It's filled with interesting info about what you and Frank went through and it also showcases your wonderful sense of humor. Have a six and a hug, Lou

Who reads the intro paragraph? LOL Bless you for finding the spag. Thanks for the six and a review that focused on my humor. Harder to laugh about these days!

I need the hug. Thank goodness for close girlfriends who invite me for a get together once in a while. Makes Frank feel good too knowing I have that support.

You definitely need the support. Online friendships don't quite cut it.

It's sad to see a loved ones decline physically and mentally, especially when a behavior change is involved. Great job of telling your story while adding humorous asides along the way.

Alheimers certainly changes a person. And sometimes it can be a complete reversal of their former demeanor. It sounds like that happened to Frank. I am so sorry Shari.
You have written well the scenarios surrounding your first inkling some thing was very wrong.
Nicely done,
:-) Carolyn

Unfortunately, it wasn't a complete reversal. That's made it difficult for me to diagnose. Thanks for the perceptive review.

Ha, I quite enjoyed your humour in the story, Shari even though the situation is dire. The thought of a corpses DNA coursing through my body would've caused the same kind of thoughts in me.

HAHA, shouting down the hall. It's still fun to share a little private humour with oneself.

Oh my goodness what a change in behaviour. That must terribly difficult for you.

Your story is as always gripping and wonderfully written.

Gloria

It is difficult for me. An hypnotist helped me to understand why. That's for an essay when I find time.

If this is fiction, it rings as if true. If this is memoir, kudos to you because we all need to be aware of these type of changes in our loved one's behaviors so that we can help them. This is written with skill and heart. The dialogue is brash but telling of Frank's decline. I want to read more and that is always a good thing. Thank you for the heart that went into this.

What a tough time with that Achilles tendon. Too bad the first doc didn't get it right. You were right to assume that there was something wrong when Frank started to display those embarrassing symptoms. You knew he was not acting like himself. Such unpredictable behavior is certainly a sign of Alzheimer's. It certainly made you feel bad in public. You must have developed strategies to deal with his public behavior. My dad never had those outbursts in public. People could tell he didn't know what was going on, but he wasn't rude. A very gripping story. judi

I didn't pull it all together until later. He's always been impatient when running errands. Thank goodness, he has let me take over. :-)

I'm reading "Still Alice." It gives such an excellent picture of what this woman goes through before she's diagnosed with Alzheimer's. judi

Early onset is really tragic. I read the book and saw the movie, but liked the book better.

First of all, great photo you've used to accentuate the title, Spit. That dude is most definitely pissed off about somethin', LOL.

A corpse! Put a stranger's DNA into my husband's body? What if the person had been a serial killer? Would hubby then kick me to death?

I watch way too many horror stories.
... Heh-heh... I can relate to that, Spit, LOL... ;}

"Do you realize you cut me off? Someone could have been hurt."

"Go fuck yourself," Frank snarled and brushed past her. This too was new. Always assertive to the point of rudeness, my husband had never been vulgar in public.
... The lady confronting your husband, Frank, in the Wal-Mart parking lot that day is damn lucky it wasn't me, Spit. I wouldn't have been nearly as polite, LOL ...

"People need to be told how stupid they are."
.. Damn, Frank, sir. I could not have said it any better myself.

~Good writing as always, Spit.

I put the corpse line in for you. No really, it did give me the willies to think of a dead person's tendon replaced his own. Hey, maybe the dead had anger issues?
Ouch. So you have a temper too! That's gotta be the attraction. ;-)

    Love ya,

Well, I've been known to get on peoples' case a time or two, if I feel they deserve it. But, no, I'm pretty laid back 99.5 % of the time. It's that 5% I still gotta work on.
You're welcome, as always, Shari. ;)
reply by the author on 27-May-2016
It's not healthy to keep it all in. Keep the five percent.

Wow. Your husband wouldn't like me. I go ahead and check out my other purchases at the Pharmacy counter OR the photo counter while I'm using their other services. *smile* I can't wait to see where this is headed.

One note:
"He went wee wee (everyone)."

--> that's also my favorite line! hahaha!

Thanks for catching the incorrect spacing. He got so angry because there was a lengthy line. Frank's always been impatient with slow clerks of customers as in the women who slowly count out exact change. That would be me. LOL

This was a compelling chapter, Shari.
You are such a good writer--both entertaining with your clever side remarks and astute in your recognition that something isn't quite right with your husband's temperament.
Excellent addition to your book.

Your usual top skills at detailed and interesting narrative, Shari, plus again, your usual real and often funny dialogue.

It's a shame Frank has become so cantankerous, but I couldn't help laughing at some of his coarse and rude outbursts, though I realise it wasn't funny for you at the time.

An excellent disturbing 'hook' to end.

Here's my last sixer of the week.

Cheers, Ray xx

Ooh, I'm thrilled by the six this late in the week. Thanks for saving it, Ray. Um, I got the impression that you can be cantankerous too--getting into trouble on the forum?
Hey, it still isn't funny. I've learned to keep him at home. :-)
