How could anyone read the title off this and not have it conjure up in the mind about this little tug. It is amazing how such little tug can manage to push much larger loads up and down the river. Patricia

this is an excellent write, treischel, you did an excellent job writing this poem about the little tub boat that works so hard. I enjoyed reading it. made me smile, I like pantoums but haven't been able to write one of them yet

Thank you Sweetwoodjax, it's not too bad, once you write the first Quatrain, you have the first and third line on the next, plus the two lines for the last stanza. So I just mark out a note book page to number the lines of the 4 quatrains. Then every time you write a line it goes in two places. I wrote Down the first line sat the last line right away. Then the second line bus the first line of the second stanza. Then the third line becomes the second line of the last stanza, and the fourth line becomes the third Lind of the next stanza. So, you are really only writing 6 new lines to create a 12 line poem,

The power in these small craft is immense I have seen similar on the Rhine in Germany, which is a fast flowing river and when stuff goes upstream eavy laden they create a huge bow wave as their speed through the water is quite fast but they move pretty slowly over the bottom.

this is a great pantoum whose rythms chug to the beat of Ugh's poerful engine. I'm not sure what you mean by,

"So small for such a trough ordeal."

It is repeated so presumably is meant. I understand trough as a something farm animals eat and drink from. Did you perhaps mean rough or tough or am I about to learn some Mississippi patois.

Thank you Pantygynt. It's a typo. Should read "tough".

This is really a neat write. I haven't been around tug boats often but they are so neat how they carry such a large ship through the water. It's good.
