The author's words are lovely and certainly says to me there is no place
like home! What I pondered on was I had a lovely apartment on a golf course and the landlords sold the place! It was hard to move but I realized home is where you heart is! The author's poem flows and connects well.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to leave your old house behind. It's so true that a house gets a life on its own as it matures. My house is now 150 years old, but of sound structure and I have had a lot of work done to keep it in shape. I loved your poem. Ulla:)))

A deeply felt affection for an old house, or more importantly, a home! Houses are more than bricks and mortar. This point is very well made in this very well controoled structure and rhyming scheme.

This poem reminds me of my father's house build over a hundred years ago. It now has the image of time and usage. We still love to gather there to receive visitor when in town. Well done, dear Jay.

I do understand. My mom will be 91 this month and lives by herself in the country. We all worry about her and wish she'd move to town, but she refuses. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.
