The images of nature ad to the emotion and feeling of your words. I admire your use of rhyming words and your smooth flow of lines. "For love exists in gratitude" is a wonderful use of words that is so true and adds to the strength of your words.

A very well-written poem. Gratitude is the key of a happy life. When we are grateful for what we have, we cannot feel unhappy with what we don't have. A passion for God and life itself is all we really need.

Love the sentiment; nothing more holy than a moment alone outside, contemplating the force of nature; life, death, and everything beyond. Something about the way the wind blows or the tree smells; reminds me of how much more there is out there.

INDEED< dear Vance, this does bring a light of joy and comfort deeply within me as I read it, because it is so lucidly clear that the poems stems from that very sanctuary in your own heart, so it resonates in the reader's inner sanctum too.
I love the tone and tenor of this, the voicing, imagery and long-flowing-lines. Love the theme and POV pus all the masterful phonetics woven with finesse.
A few comma suggestions:
My eyes reach out to seek a place where I might,(no ,) but a calm and soothing sonnet yield(,)
And yet the wafting steam of desire brings only fixed attention to this tangled mind(,) now sealed
Yet now it cleanses deep, my heart and eager mind(,) and shines, alas(,) my mission bright and clear
Reflect(,) with all the strength of will my heart and mind may generate, to offer what I believe is true
*optional hyphen:
And pray these lines of deeply(-)pondered thought may bring a light of joy and comfort deeply within you
The closing line is powerful and well voiced:
For Love exists in GRATITUDE and therein shall yield a bond with GOD that's so very sadly found by few
Fine alliteration of G and F and S etc.
Bravo
Blessings and Best Smiles,
rd

I like the way that you developed this poem into prose. It is very convincing and passionate. The photograph complements the theme of your work about passion.

Great thoughts here in this poem, Vance! Great metaphors used here with the steaming rocks of passion (anger?) is cooled and cleansed by the rains of Gratitude. If only everyone could be blessed by the love, joy and comfort through gratitude to God. Blessings to you.

Thanks so much lyenochka, for your generous and uplifting review. I've recently allowed myself to be 'captured' by anger and rage over the political insanity going on in AMERICA so I needed to remind myself of my passion for GRATITUDE and get back to work on my mission of sponsoring it to the goodwill of everyone who reads my works. Thanks so much an please forgive my recent rants! Blessings always. Vance
