The very title of this work sums up just about all of my feelings regarding it. The theme of loss in this poem is deeply touching, and connects the reader to the speaker effortlessly. The mournful feeling of grief and the difficulty of moving on in life is something that we all can relate with, and is delivered expressively through your skill with poetic craft. Although our loved ones may pass on, our memories of them keep them close at heart, and in such a way we come to terms with ourselves and the past. Thus, our love is eternally sown.

This is a beautifully written work. Excellent job!

Oh I feel for you, I truly do and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I too lost my husband. At 46 cancer took him from me. It sounds like your wife was younger : (
Your poem brings out the deep love you had for your wife and the pain of losing her. The flow of the words and the rhyming is excellent and suits the bitter sweet tone.

May she ever linger in your heart,

Thank you for sharing : )

I'm not sure but I feel like this is written by Ben. Either way loss is a very hard road to walk indeed. You penned your love and yearning in a great poem here. God Bless.

This is a beautiful poem to the your young love, lost. Today is my 47th anniversary with my spouse and your poem spoke to me today of how grateful I should be to still have him with me. Your meter was perfect and rhyme scheme well done. The message and intent were clear and filled with quiet love and respect. I am honored to have read what so honestly came from your heart.

Sorry for your loss at an early age. It s a lovely poem, worthy of your love and devotion for her. Very good rhyme and though the words are a little trite, they still as a whole give off the sincerity of your feelings. Keep up the good work!

Jaybird1,

Eternal love captured in a most exquisitely written sonnet
composed with deep love and skillful pen. Each and every
line is a gem and I can barely pick one or two as a favorite.

It's refreshing to read a sonnet that flows right from the
heart that is not forced or contrived. Okay...I picked 2 lines
that seemed to especially stand out to me:

"Our progeny 'twill show the world we cared
and help to keep depressing gloom at bay"

Beautiful in every way. I'm so sorry for your loss,
Linda

I am sorry that you have to experience the departure of you dearest. It is sad, but you have found a way to put the sadness you are enduring into words to sooth your sorrow. You expressed it well to show that you are now on your own physically but emotionally your dearest is still there "Another dawn, another day to greet,...Within my heart you linger, ever near." You know, Sir Walter Raleigh's wife carried his embalmed head every where she went. Think about that "linger ever near". I enjoyed reading yours. Cheers and Respectfully.

Absolutely beautiful. Not to sound too corny, but I could feel that you poured your heart into these lines, and that always makes for worthwhile reading. I love the line: "Our progeny twill show the world we cared." What better evidence of one's love. This was very touching. Thanks for sharing.
