This is a beautiful own and equally lovely song about a soldier's death. It is worthy of a six, but since you didn't write it, I'll just say, thanks for sharing.

Beautifully written in great reflective nostalgic language that is poignant, sad and leaves one with that feeling of a life expectant of used to be's. I love this Ine, one of your more reflective and articulate works, a most enjoyable poem, well done, blessings, Roy

Did you say this poem was written by an American and that it's not your writing? I didn't know that sort of thing is allowed on the site? You're getting a lot of credit for somebody elses writing.

This is a very well written poem with a lovely rhyme and the thinking of those in bloom again has a well structured metaphor that spring always come back. Lovely.

I plan to share this post with my 39-year-old son when I return home, since he is a big rail fan! I enjoyed your lyrics, rhymes and repeats. What a poignant song for Remembrance Day. Hugs- Joan, from Beijing

Hi Robina,
I think I called you Ine, but I'm not sure. I just finished reading your poem and it help my interest all the way through. You sure did a great job in writing it. I hope you don't mind me saying that the second line in your first verse would sound better if you changed the word "through" to "though". I think that's what you meant. It's easy to get words mixed up. I've done it many times myself.

War has cost many a young man/woman their lives and has cheated them a full term of life. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

A Lovely poem written about a very moving subject I found it quite emotional which I feel was the point of the poem, a reminder of how many sweethearts were and are lost in times of war. wonderful stuff and well written.
