Wish I had a seven! That is masterful essay writing! Wow! I love it! It is so deep, so profound, so ingraining, so intense, so foreboding! I never knew "what next?" Great questions, and intelligent evolving and scientific understanding. Bravo! Oh ya...a bit eerie! Tony Bronk

We have a sorrowful life on earth. We should not allow it to control our spiritual mind. The things of the earth is temporarilby but the spirit will live forever.

Your poem is overflowing with things to think about.

I can't pick out a favorite line. I liked them all. " . . . vanity, a striving after the wind" especially tugged at me. We all rush around striving for all the wrong things.

We should all be more aware of the issues boiling around in our world today, and turn to God. Only He can help.

I enjoyed this very much. 8-)

Well, well done. A very thought provoking poem and write that really left me thinking. Yes, life takes us through many stages. Your poem left me a bit sad though. All the best. Ulla:)

The Man Comes Around
Johnny Cash

"And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder
One of the four beasts saying,
'Come and see.' and I saw, and behold a white horse"
"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts
And I looked, and behold a pale horse
And his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with him"

"In life we leave good or negative impressions"......and often times, both...

"We are in a haste to heal a broken bone
And we undermine and ignore the healing of a broken soul"
.....I agree, wholeheartedly...

"Darkness has overpowered the light
And we find ourselves in a sorry plight
Who will deliver us from our last enemy-death?
All we can do is hope for a resurrection to a life with everlasting breath."
.......You're absolutely correct, darkness has taken over the world, only it isn't quite finished doing so just yet. People better wise up and realize that fact, before it's far too late to do anything about it.

Well done free verse, Poet. Very...thought provoking...

This was written extremely well and I liked the way you placed the words. Obviously you are a talented poet able to herd those emotions like fear/love/death into words. I wish I was a better reviewer and could pick it apart for improvements. Alas, I can only say "Bravo"! For me the ending didn't have the punch of the rest of the poem.

Very poignant piece! Your well-written words created beautiful imagery in this poem. Liked the following lines:

Yet we have doubled our hustles and struggles to make ends meet like we have lost our minds
From our merged and meager resources we have given to the needy because it is rewarding to be kind

These are very meaningful and eloquently expressed. Even while struggling to stay afloat, we do give to the many needy "because it is rewarding to be kind".

Also, the imagery in these following lines is soooooo good:

Behold the rider of the black horse*
Galloping majestically on his sackcloth with his black* purse
He knocks on everyone's door, because we have all been cursed*

These are very meaningful and eloquently expressed. Even while struggling to stay afloat, we do give to the many needy "because it is rewarding to be kind".

This is a thought provoking, intelligent write. "And we undermine and ignore the healing of a broken soul" ... this line really touched me. Yes, we try to quick-fix all that is visible to the naked eye, but what about the rest?

Well written and presented, I thought you did a great job on this write.

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It's very well written. The references to the bible make it interesting. I especially love the line "darkness has overpowered the light". I hope you're having a good day!
