Maybe a stupid, but it is a fun one. This is my kind of poem. I don't have to hurt my head too much trying to figure out what the author is trying to convey--except for the "Chooks"; that one lost me. (I'm in the U.S.; my guess you are in Australia or N.Z.). Cheers.

Very good Bruce Down Under Australia you got that right. Always getting into trouble with the yanks and Rebels for different pronunciations. have a ;look at another piece I recently put up. With mention of different dialect to cover misunderstanding of rhymes in a couple of places.Sorry rewards are gone on that one.

Checked the Oxford Dictionary I got when Graduating from 6th Grade and shock horror it had HAIL for both calling down a bus or taxi AND for the frozen balls of ice on the lawn Thanks for that. All fixed.

At least it wasn't raining cats and dogs for that would have had the chooks in flap.
Nice work mate, flowed along nicely, pleasure to read.
Talking about chooks, I have a young cocky rooster who decided that he was the king pin of the hen house, anyway, today he had a go at his Dad, well did he get the hiding of all hidings and is now sulking in the corner of the yard with his head in a bush.

A great fun and humorous poem, how would the animals act when forced to stay indoors by the bad weather. I suppose we should have the situation fun instead of being grumpy.
