What is stupid about playing around with words and concentrating on their sound more than their meaning. I liked the feel of this and it is certainly no more stupid than all those stupid limericks. Poetry should be read aloud and when this one is it works with all the bustle of a farmyard.

Thanks very much. Much appreciate your lovely review. The lady whose chooks I am writing about has been a long time friend. She used to be the editor of our local Newspaper, or more like a small News mag.Sadly that is not around anymore but we are still friends.

Hi faithful friends. Had to do a re-write slightly as the owner of the other picture got annoyed at me for using it. Never mind getting paranoid at the use of the first names of the family and the dog. Hope she doesn't get upset I kept some of the chook's names.

This is a cute poem, I like how you describe the rain storms and being stuck indoors. The poem had a nice flow up to the last verse, where the rhyming was a little off. I guess the picture of the chickens in the coop depicts them indoors...LOL. Thanks for sharing.

have we met before. I did plan on maybe adding another verse or two as I get time. The chooks were at the lady's back door of the house wanting in out of the rain. Not sure if you understand points for reviews it is no bother as I have quite a bunch of reviews already but I thought you would mark down for spelling errors or something? I never mark folks down for that. No worries not offended whatever you think I need to do I will look into it some more.

I just read your reply, I thought I gave you a five star on this, I will try to change my rating, I liked your poem...sorry for the misunderstanding:)

Thanks for coming back hang on a bit I might add a verse or two then you can up the rating if you like. I know the last line is a bit off but that is a kind of "signature" of mine if you like, hehe. Appreciate you coming b ack I was not angry. I have a great swag of lovely supporters in here so ratings don't get affected. Not sure if we have met will look for your stuff as I get time.

I don't think this is a
stupid poem, I'd say that
it is a most fun read. I
enjoyed this well flowing
colorfully worded writing.
You put a smile on an old
woman's face, sort of reminded
me of all the Dr.Suess books
I've had to read. Well presented,
so pleased that you shared this
with us, thank you. Lora

All ok now the person did not understand the rating system and they did like my poem so all well.
reply by L.lora on 29-Apr-2016
Did they revise their rating and review, I sure hope so. Glad it is straightened out, that can be so disheartening...
reply by the author on 29-Apr-2016
I will check thanks for the reminder. It does not matter all that much as I have a terrific swag of very good support which kinda wipes any downers.

The weatherman has the perfect job. He can be wrong and still get paid. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

I don't think this is a dumb poem at all. I really rather enjoyed the warm wit inside of the verse. It is a very charming poem. Tony

A very bright, breezy poem, Geoff, nicely rhymed in abcb rhyme, it is as well done as any poem online my friend and certainly beautifully written and filled with good humour, well done. my friend. Blessings. Roy
Typo (Hales) hails?

Yeah thanks for coming along, bro. I had a couple of correctors on the hail/s hale etc. I looked it up in my Oxford dictionary I got when Graduating from Sixth grade and hail goes for both the frozen balls of ice on the lawn and for calling down a cab or bus so there. All fixed thanks.

This was a fun read. I see from your story that the weather reports there are sometimes no more reliable there than here. Blessings for a good weekend. Patricia

I'm on my phone and don't know how to copy and paste. Question when you wrote "hale" did you mean "hail"? Other than that I thought your poem was fun. Keep writing

You are probably right I have been given a few corrections. I still get mixed up on a few spellings. There is a joke "What is worse than raining cats and dogs?.....answer Haling buses. The noun is "hale" but it is a play on words meaning hail as in blobs of ice on the grass hehe. It could be a difference in our countries again but I promise I will check it and I appreciate you coming by.
reply by the author on 28-Apr-2016
Fixed the error actually my Oxford Dictionary I was given when Graduating from 6th Grade says "hail" for both calling down a bus or the frozen balls of ice on the lawn so there. Thanks.
