I dug into your attic and found this poem I somehow missed the first time around. I cracked up over the "Poultry" title and got a "giggle" from your rhymed quatrains too! Thanks for your notes of additional context. Have a restful Sunday- Joan

Thanks Joan for coming by all rewardless and so on. I may yet promote the books again. I am trying to decide if it would be better to get The Poultry book and Geoff's Musings and my Carol's all published and "out there" before I do my autobiography. What say you? Not sure the Rambles collection or the Rants and Taves purely for FS'ers are worth actually publishing??

I think you should publish as much as possible, except for the FanStory specific tales. Have fun- Joan

This is indeed amusing and quite eclectic. It has a
tendency to move around a bit. But as a raiser of
chickens, I couldn't but read and review. I chose
this piece out of your portfolio because it needed just
one more review to gain all time best status. I hope
you don't mind. All the best. -Bill

Hi Geoff. I just found your works and of course the word chooks jumped at me so that's where I started. I never realised we 'talked funny' until a dear soul from US asked what I intended doing with the sponge (The Fete.) I wrote back saying I made it for my son's birthday which confused her even more so. After a few of these back and forth I finally explained 'sponge' here is a cake not something you wash the dishes with! Poor soul is still doubtful of my sanity! Sincerely Anne.

Anne we need an Aussie Group on FS fer shore! You are so much on the same page with us. The "professionals" in here really give us a hard time. When you consider what Americans do to the English language especially from the Saouth ya'll the only ones in America who understand us are from Boston Massachusettes. Must have had something to do with the Tea party or something. Some of the reviewers are very kind and accept the way we say t4hings. They are the most forward thinking and encouraging of all the reviewers. I should introduce you to some of the best writers and reviewers who understand us very well or accept us if they don't understand. By the way just to put you off or otherwise I am a "Bible Basher or Thumper" hehe. Queensland is full of all sorts of Bible Thumpers hehe.Cheers.

Love Ron also a fellow Bible Thumper hehe. Did I ask if you are on Facebook? That is where I saw the ad for FS? I know Facebook is not everyone's cup of tea I left it myself for 18 months been back about 3 years now.

Well, the weather can make one write poems that make no sense, because it seems to rule the roost these days...Who knows what it will do next?...And think you might hear a lot of complaints besides mine about what's going on outside their door...with windy and wetter than usual in April here in central Illinois...to make sure, this overnight extra blankets are needed because so chilly. And then most of us wake up sweating...with a front that comes through... Also they are letting us know the dog-flu is rampant in Chicago, and where I reside...People, are sick a lot here, too, and are staying more indoors...with the rain, the chill and then there is the pollen, Achoo! Hopefully, May will bring better more reasonable weather to all of us. After all, it's already Spring time for us here, and weather is trying to make up its mind what to do next, and the forecasters are having some fits as so hard to predict!

I did enjoy reading your poem, and try to keep well you and wife...Caressa_08

Thanks Friend. Appreciate your coming by. As we head towards the End times weather is going opposite top what we normally expect in the seasons. We normally have Hot Summers and Christmas Day is usually a hot day but for years now in Summer we have had wet and cold Christmas days so go figure.

Hi faithful friends. Had to do a re-write slightly as the owner of the other picture got annoyed at me for using it. Never mind getting paranoid at the use of the first names of the family and the dog. Hope she doesn't get upset I kept some of the chook's names.

This is very well rhymed and sounds like the Spring we've had in Northern California. I can't imagine how the birds survive the heave rains in their little twig nests. I love chickens and surly miss the eggs. Can't have them now that I'm in a small apartment.

The label "A Stupid Poem" attracted me to this posting. I must say it is different and not at all what I expected. But I liked it and enjoyed its lyric quality. The note also gives the piece added dimension.

Enjoyed your crazy little poem, good word flow, along with good rhyming make it easy to read, and relate to. Yes the weather seems to never do what we need it to do. Good job my friend.

Good one, Bro. I raised chickens up until a year ago. Have cats now. My ducks I let go into the wild. Just to many to mess with. Glad the weather was kind to you and you still have your home. Blessings to you.

The weather can play havoc - on humans AND their animals! Some want
in and some want out. . .but both are sure to be disappointed when Mother
Nature is making the call! LOL
