Hi, Craig,

I read through your writing addict acrostic, Nice job with this, as it has a frantic sort of feel in the words and light rhymes ... as you use the theme for the challenge to put someone on the hook to tease in tongue and cheek fun.

The mix of phrases and motions merges really well with the Writing Addict theme line of the acrostic. This poem feels playful, teasing, with a good sense of urgency (cause there's got to be a 'fix' when your an addict, you know)

Though, when you have a need ... who can drink tea? That's almost a cruel suggestion! Considering, well... well, I know when I'm caught up in a writing urge...(when I really have to get my writing fix in) sometimes I'll be standing and typing and doing a pee-pee dance, cause I got to go! but I just have to finish one more sentence before I lose the thought, I can hold off heading to the potty for at least to finish one more sentence. (then maybe one more)

Add a bunch of tea in a person who's caught up writing like that, that's possibility for too many distractions.

This was fun to read.

Thanks, Turtle. It was fun to write - why wouldn't poking fun at someone who puts us through all that once a week be fun?

    Appreciate the great review, Craig.

Hi Craig,
how many times has the potlatch pushed us over the edge and turned us into dithering compulsive beings. I think this was a very brave posting and as regards Phyllis. I'm sure she would prefer our image of her as someone in complete control and coherent as well. lol
Great fun.

Hi Craig,

Superb injection of manic-ness and humour into this very well written acrostic piece. I wish I could actually do these and rhyme them sublimely as you do! LOL

All the best

I just saw it as an irresistable opportunity to have a go at Phyllis, after all she puts us through every week!

Thanks for the great review, GMG.

A great acrostic, good thinking and excellent humor and a few rhymes that I picked up. It seems you had a lot of fun. Lol

One hour, huh?
You managed to write this in less than an hour...
Well, Craig, not only is it funny (and more than a little bit true, I think...ahem...), it features some great rhyming, too.

I think you rose to the challenge quite admirably.

Good stuff...

Actually, it was 9 minutes, Dean - not including the picture and formatting (such as there is). Fifteen all up - though I have made one or two small tweaks since then LOL

Thanks for the kindly review :)

LOL! Heyyyy... the writing addict is supposed to be YOU, Craig. Not that I won't admit to a bit of overindulging at times. But it was YOU who took me to my first WA meeting, and you became my sponsor. You are supposed to help me stop writing, and a cup of tea won't do it, pal. I need more incentive, like... a ride on a merry-go-round or a lemur from Madagascar to play with. But then, I'd only want to write about it, so I guess I see your point. I'll have that cup of tea, then. No one would stoop so low as to write about a cup of tea...

Tea for two
just me and you
taking a break
to sit and woo

How well I recall
those honey days
before I succumbed
to this writing craze
...

Oh, I don't want to write about myself Phyllis, that seems kind of self-absorbed hahaha

And there are no prizes, so you can't withhold that from me...

Of course, I guess you could find something heavy or sharp, but you're FAR too nice for that ;-)

I can't do lemurs, would an alpaca do?
reply by Phyllis Stewart on 24-Apr-2016
You have alpacas? Sorry, but they can't fit on my lap and can't climb on my shoulders like lemurs. But I'll take an alpaca sweater! :)

You got a bit revengeful, didn't you? Look at that!
Nevertheless, you complied with your assignment and wrote a delightfully upset satire!
LOL!
"Acrostic! she cried with a smirk
Don't you mumble "poetry pants""

You had some fun with it!
Now, I go see what review she gave you :)!

LOL she's not speaking to me - no review hehe
reply by lightink on 23-Apr-2016
    Oh NO!
Maybe when you get "Craig's demise" as next weeks poem, you'll know how she felt...

I hope she just didn't get to it yet...
I think it's more funny than offensive...
reply by the author on 24-Apr-2016
Now that could be fun - writing an acrostic about my own departure :)
reply by lightink on 24-Apr-2016
Now, you made me laugh bad enough that I was a bit worried about waking up my son! Stop it!;)
    LOL!

You do realize, Phyllis is permanent. We beg her every week to return. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! This is a scream. I think it may even be funnier than my piece.
Seriously you have so many unexpected twists and surprise word selections it's just toooooo much. Funny as hell. Loved it, mikey

Hahaha! I just love this, Craig!! Phyllis is up there scribbling and cursing, throwing crumpled paper, alternating between sweating and chills. God help us, she's berserk! LOL!
This is the winner so far, in my opinion:
-it's acrostic
-it rhymes
-it pokes fun at Phyllis in a hilarious way
-it's SO FUNNY!

Yep, def. time for tea!

Thanks, Carol - you're too kind. Phyllis hasn't made any comment yet - I think she might be off looking for some sort of heavy object :)

Hi Crai

A great take on the Manic Muse and how it can effect even the most 'normal' of people. ... now you've revealed such intimate knowledge of Phyllis's writing agenda, I'm not sure if she will launch a Penguin poem at you. Of course, while this is perfect for the theme, I think you may be in denial ... about your own addiction .... after all who else would get up early on a Sunday morning (here in Oz) and write such ravings? I've enjoyed being privy to Phyllis's private life and she does photograph well when she's AT IT!!!!. LOL Great fun, I'm sure Phyllis loves it. Hahaha! Now go and feed the chooks, the goats, the alpaca .... whatever else in that menagerie of yours. OOPS, I wrote my poem before feeding my Chinese Silky ... and myself ... it's not a pretty sight, me with an empty stomach. LOL Great fun. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

It's far, far worse than you think Lovi. I was actually here YESTERDAY at 8 am wondering why no one had showed up LOL

Thanks for a great, fun review, and as I've said before I don't think there is a jury in the land that will convict me :)
