A beautiful poem. A terrible disease and you did a good job describing it in the poem. Faith and hope also come through loud and clear. Faith through tragedy is the most inspirational and seems to me a miracle of its own!

Judy - Thank you for your insight and encouragement. And thank you for your review and comments. You are right about the miracle. Funny - Bud and I see miracles all around us and rejoice - of course they were there all the time but we just weren't looking. This kind of thing slows you down and gets your eyes on what is truly important.
God bless and my best,
Relda

You really did a good job with this faith poem, Relda. While some people choose to curse God/Fate when things go wrong in life, others turn more to God for comfort. And, more importantly, they put emphasis on all the blessings/good things in their lives. I think you captured this sentiment. Hugs, Lou

What a horrible debilitating disease that affects the central nervous system. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in 1939 he was diagnosed with this disease, ending his baseball career. Your poem is very well written and provides information about ALS, which gradually causes a decline in muscle function, and the person slowly lose movement. Very nice faith poem, good luck with the contest.

Your faith poem about Bud's ALS and the challenges you both face is well done. Author's note explains this debilitating disease. Both of you are strong in your faith and daily lives to deal with it all. God helps us to get through many things that would otherwise crush our spirit. Bless you both. Marilyn

Thank you for your review and stars. Your 'buddy' is lucky to have you. My 'Bud' tells me he is lucky to have me, but I think it is the other way around - I am blessed everyday to have him.

WOW! Powerful autobiography of Bud as he grew from functioning man to weaken man. His faith carries him through as he seemed ready to go meet his Savior. Such sad nut spiritual poem. liberty justice

A very informative posting. I never knew about the motor neurons and the exact nature of ALS. I love informaton. Your poem is very touching and very personal. Too personal for me to comment on. My prays are with you.

Angie - You've lifted my spirit. Had a rough few days with Bud and, today, have been learning how to spray citrus trees (in our Frostproof home's backyard) ... and I'm dragging. Exhausted physically and emotionally. Your review makes me feel better. A good dose of 'Angie' makes everything better.
You're an angel.
