Ah, I like this one. It's message that hope is the fuel that keeps us alive is clear. You convey well that to have hope is a choice to embrace or throw away....Very well written and full of emotion. This is a strong entry and I know you will do well.

Great write on hope, Good rhyming and rhythm, hope does live only if we allow it to live within us. Not all is filled with hope. good luck on this.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is a powerful and eloquent poem which shows the triumph of the human spirit in appalling circumstances. The repetition of 'to' helps the reader to understand the tragic conditions that the girl would have lived in and the poem makes the reader address his/her own prejudices. The final stanza emits a defiant hope for mankind. Good luck for the contest and thanks for sharing.

    Thank you . That picture says it all. I am a choir director and have sung all my life. I would walk home from school singing and pretending that all the doors would open and that all the people would know the steps to the dance. I hope her joy lived. We will never know.
