A great rhyming verse about your confusing thoughts. Don't get discouraged. Every one has their own style if writing , just read about some rules for guidelines and go wherevervit takes you.

I couldn't agree with you more. It seems the poets and prose writers will never agree on this one. Personally, I like free verse the best and get confused on blank verse. Actually all the rules of the hundreds of styles of poetry are lost on me. I got a kick out of this one and it put a big smile on my face because I could relate to everything you said. My advice to to ignore the labels and call it exactly what you want. Type Prosety in the 'write a short sentence' section and the heck with the non-believers!

This is so very cute. You had me smiling as I read :) I get confused about what prose is. My Oxford dictionary says it's ordinary written or spoken language. Not sure that helps me lol!

Thank you had such a fun time writing it. I have so much respect for all of you on fanstory. I will get two reviews one saying they love my poem with a six star rating and another that says I don't know what poetry is. I love that so many of you understand.

I have been where you are! Traditional (rhyming) poetry
has always felt artificial, and prose lacks the musicality
of poetry. The appellation "free form" implies a abandonment
of the artistry intrinsic in the poetic soul and "free verse"
implies 'structured - but not rhyming'. What's a girl to do??
It took me years to understand that Prose-etry is where my
art soars!
Grab hold of that kite string and fly JL - ride the winds of your
artistry. . .and ignore the labels that anchor everyone else to
the ground :-)

My advice to you or should I say suggestion is not to listen to critics, if you say it's poetry, then it is indeed poetry. If you say that it is prose then by God it's prose. You are the writer, write on.

Thank you so much. The people here are wonderful and I love their critiques but my mind works in this free flow thing and I am enjoying the time spent on this site.

Thank you, I have been getting great feedback and I am enjoying it. You always touch me with your comments. I do get a lot of reviews that tell me that I confuse poetry with prose or prose with poetry. But writing is keeping me happy, so here's to Prosetry.
