This story reminds me of an event in my own life many years ago when I too questioned God and His purpose and even if He really was there at all. I received an amazing response to my outcry which told me in no uncertain terms that He IS there. He is listening. He does hear us. Although your story is stated as fiction, I feel as though there may be a touch of reality therein. the story is a gripper right from the start though the rapid pace of its narration to the end. Sad, but serene and faith filled well done cheers Cass

This is an excellent flash fiction story. You had me from barfed! LOL. I started the read not realizing it was fiction and you had my heart going out to you and your family with all your losses in one year. I hope Conner pulls through! LOL.

Good job. I felt like you put as much info as you could into such a short story. So much pain to endure in this life we lead faith is definitely important.

Great episode and entry to this contest, I'd be very surprised if this wasn't the winner. I must admit, I don't know why some folk go through 20 persons share of suffering, and others seemingly, but like you, I believe God is showing us this life means little, a speck in the seam of time, the drying of every tear, well done, great imaginative story, but the heartache is real, well done, LoannaLois, blessings, Roy
