Sometimes, well meaning doctors proffer medicine, instead of care, and this can lead to taking multiple pills, each to counteract the first set of pills that were prescribed. It's a seeming endless cycle. I wouldn't condone anyone just stopping the pills they are taking, but that can be dangerous too - but... Your couplets in quatrains shares a lot of wisdom. Sometimes, when it comes to pills, less is better. My drama teacher used to say to me - Let Go, and Let God. It is a good saying to keep in mind when I comes to doctors.

I am glad you feel better, my friend. Faith and belief are great healers. The thinking yourself better is a great approach to modern medicine. I think doctors over prescribe anyway. Thank you for sharing and take care.

Teri - I am so happy to know you are feeling better! Sometimes when we have to take a lot of medicines the side effects can become worse than what we were taking the meds for in the first place! Glad you're eliminating some~ YAY you!

It's always a blessing to read your poems of happy, hope, family, and witnessing to your readers for the good Lord. It's a pleasure to read about things other than war, drugs, politics, and killings. Great job. :-)

Wow! Teri ~

What a heart rendering story about fighting drugs in the form of a poem. I loved your lines ...

"I was the type of person who always thought
Going to the doctor was the plan I sought"
(Don't most of us do that and then get hooked on them?
Such a sad remedy that makes the pharmaceutical industry so rich and greedy ... not all of them... but some are obvious from the after effects and horrendous addictions)

I love your sharing the lines...
"By the grace of God and my husband so dear
I now walk each day with lots less fear"

and especially where you have written...
"After receiving that holy heavenly touch from above"
and
"Medicines begin to fall off one by one
Today I do love and appreciate the Son"

The answer is in your lines...

"When I have a problem I go to Him in prayer
One thing I know is that He will always meet me there"

I loved this poem, Teri ... and know that all who have a problem and read this ... will have the supreme one and only answer... "Almighty God, Jesus."

Thank you for sharing it and certain it will be a blessing to all who needed to read it.

Hugs,
Nan:))
