Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

While I like the picture you chose, Bev, you paint an excellent image without even needing the picture.
Also you manage to do this in very few syllables. What a versatile writer you are!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Connie

Thank you very much for this generous review! I am sort of addicted to adding pictures to my poetry thanks to FanStory. No picture feels kind of naked, but it is the 'proper' way to present haiku.

I appreciate your compliment and support very much, Connie.

Thank you for your timely, seasonal poem in this short haiku form and the striking artwork. You even managed to include alliteration. Cheers- Joan

Thanks so much, Joan. I appreciate your remark regarding the alliteration as you are the 'queen' of alliteration in my opinion!

You are too kind. I don't think I can write without alliteration. Huge hugs- Joan

This is a clever and well executed poem. The ideas are presented eloquently in so few words and the poem makes the reader thin. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes Lisa

Whoops! I should have typed 'think'! Now a poem that makes you thin would be something!

I won't be reviewing this as a Haiku but a poem because the Japaneses who created this type of poetry doesn't allow for pictures. They did this because they wanted the words to provide the imagery. The titling is correct. This is amazing and normal since if a pic was included the score would be low but this is so great it's a five.

    Hi, foxangie123

Yes, I am aware of the suggestion that the Japanese poems be presented without pictures. My version is, undoubtedly, Americanized.

Thanks for the thorough read and the support. I appreciate it.

So glad you're doing this for the Haiku project. I don't think I can spare the time for it. Excellent poem. I like the alliteration of poised and promised. Resurrection makes a great last line. It sums up your idea. It's interesting how so many flowers have to come to symbolize something, especially as religious symbols. Who's that hiding among the flowers in the artwork. judi

Thanks so much, Judi. Don't you just love the picture! I think they're fairies, or as some prefer, pixies. I'd love to have a copy of this print. Gosh, I didn't know there was an ongoing haiku project (gulp!). I really need to read the announcements better.

I appreciate your support, my friend. I was looking at the Easter Lily plants in our little chapel nearby and this came out of that meditation.

The lilies are always so lovely for Easter. They are indeed a symbol of resurrection. judi

They really are for me, Judi. I love the smell!

I had an aunt named Lillian, and she always made us think of the flower. judi

That's cool, Judi. I associate gardenias with my favorite aunt.

I feel you've done a wonderful job in writing this haiku! The words simple shout out (maybe shout is not the best word) let's try acclaim. Yes, acclaim the meaning behind the theme. The picture is perfect for the theme as well. Didn't realize this was poetry month. Should be fun one with all the gifted poets on site. Loren

    Hi, Loren

Yes, not only is it poetry month but there's a Nanowrite challenge going on, too.

I find Haiku a difficult form to do well, so your encouragement is really appreciated!

Good write, your words paint a clear and beautiful picture. The picture supports it, but I like that it could and does stand on its own. Good luck in the contest.
