The themes are connected. Fragile, yes, but not overcome. I presume you might know the song that is connected to this story. If not, there's a link to it in my last profile post, because I was listening to it as I wrote this. Thanks for reviewing, Tony.

Arggh! When I really, really need a six...I have none. This is so nicely done, I love it -the symbolism mentioned in your notes, and that I imagine for myself - the wonderful perfection of a flower, that is knowledge, floating above oceans of ignorance...
AND I love that you are leaving the meaning for us readers to "fathom" :)
The title feels so appropriate to the poem too - it's really very thought-provoking, thinking of the great gift of knowledge. Bringing calm and a sense of peace is certainly part of true knowledge.

This is a very deep (also, no pun intended) and poignantly penned antonym, Craig. Just a subtle hint of alliteration added to the mix here with "frangipani floating".

Exceptional

This is a profound statement of genius truth, merged well as tribute to those fallen to a most devastating kind of ignorance. Yet even the most knowledgeable person in the world can still be tied to this statement as fathoming the depths of anything is elusive to the vastness of what is, there always seems to be more.

And the other aspects of this poem to me, is how beautiful knowledge can be, and how ignorance just wins by hands-down abundance. Where it just feels impossible to sop up with a mop. You tied these two opposites together with seamless flow of logic, I like the added alliteration of fragnipani floating.

Not only does the fragnipani have relevance to a particular moment in time, it is a fragile beauty easily swallowed by a cold overwhelming force of nature. Yet it floats too. In it's own defiant way.
