What an effective poetic device to take your reader through the things that humanity takes for granted that will disappear one by one by one.
You've involved all our senses in the radical destruction that Climate Change will wreak on our beautiful planet.
Super job with this one~

Thank you, Gloria, for your review of my poem that "involved all our senses in the radical destruction that Climate Change will wreak on our beautiful planet." Never in my life have I seen ecological destruction on this scale. I am shocked and terrified.

Hey, Sis Cat. I'm moved by your poem. It reveals someone who is in tune to the ever changing landscape or our world. We observe, we made connections - some correct - some possibly needing more time of the lifting of the veil. Your identification and love of the environment is undeniable. That empathetic gift, ultimately, is that appreciation and love is the mirror that reflects our souls and in the end gives us peace. Loren

Thank you, Loren, for your insightful, six star review. I have always had an affinity for trees and it pains me to see what is happening to them. I am glad I shared my "empathetic gift" with you.

Yes, poetsteve15, I am thinking about publishing this poem outside of FanStory because I feel people should know about what is happening to our forests. Thank you for your generous, six star review.

Your well crafted poem carries an
important message - a warning that man
must take care of mother earth.
Descriptive images and sensory appeal in
each stanza are the strength of this poem.
Well done.

Your poem captures this tragedy very well. I liked the use of the absence of things to make your point. Your writing flows smoothly. Your notes are very well done

This is both brilliant poetry and a heart-breaking acknowledgement of the affect of global warming. I imagine that these forests you mention are natural ones and not planted by man in the wrong place. In England, we are fighting to replace man-made conifer forests with indigenous hardwoods, but many trees are facing unwarranted disease and infestation.
I love the way you have used each of the senses in turn to illustrate this disaster.
But, on a note of hope, it is surprising how Mother Nature recovers. I loveBarbara Kingsolver's book 'Prodigal Summer' for this reason.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Thank you, Marion, for your thoughtful review of my piece that "is both brilliant poetry and a heart-breaking acknowledgement of the affect of global warming." As you well know in England, beetle infestation is not just happening in America but globally as temperature rises. I used all senses "to illustrate this disaster" to illustrate this disaster. Thank you for your review. I have added Prodigal Summer to my Audible wish list.

Hi Sis Cat, this is an excellent free verse poem that draws the readers attention to the plight in American forests, I certainly didn't know about this devastating blue beetle my friend.

Eric1, the devastation is worst than I thought. Reviewers in Spain, England, and Canada have all reported that their trees are dying because of fungus-borne bark beetles. I am glad you found my free verse excellent and that it drew attention to this plight. Thank you for your review.

If I were allowed only one word to review this marvelous, poetic, discourse on the forest devastation, due to bark beetles, it would be
AWESOME...
Well done Sis Cat,

Thank you, Rubylou, for your generous, six star review. Many have found both my poem and the notes informative, because they were unaware of the problem of park beetles. I am glad you noted how I "skillfully wove the senses" though my words.
