Oh, Missy, you did a beautiful job with this poem.

When we come together
In anger
Words sear the heart
Or
Freezes the mind

Love that stanza.

You tell fastdigits you won. K?

I keep the number of poets I read to a selected few, you being one. Excellent verses, I'm sure you nailed the competition.
I love the way you can subtly, or in some cases, overtly say what is on your mind...and it always seems to be on your mind.

If you are referring to romance...Yes, Jimmy :) it is!
Thank you for choosing me as one of the ones you read, hon.
Sometimes we write about what we long for. Probably to old for that nonsense but .....

Hello Missy,
Yes, I've read his work, it's quite good. I'm glad to see the challenges going back and forth. It's good for inspiration. ;)
Two thoughts on this thought provoking poem which i enjoyed immensely:

Freeze[s] the mind (I think, since you used 'words sear the heart or...' (in singular fashion, then, you should add, 'freeze the mind'... it keeps the tenses correct)

uncontrollably (might be a better word choice than uncontrolled? what do you think?)

just some thoughts... otherwise, awesome challenge... I think you nailed it!
well done
c

This is a very cool (pun intended) poem. In the second stanza, I think you mean "complements" (completes) instead of compliments, right? Other than that, this poem is great. Nice work.

Wow! This sounds exciting. Reminds me of an affair I had years ago but it was different. You see she was both fire and ice and you never knew which one was going to be switched on. It did make life interesting, but difficult.

One point on this, below. "Words" is the subject to bothe verbs so both must have plural forms so "freezes" should be "freeze".

"Words sear the heart
Or
Freezes the mind"

Thank you, Gynt. I read that over and over and just said, the hell with worrying about it. Someone with more grammar knowledge will put me right, and I was not disappointed in my FanStory fans :)
I appreciate all you do to make my writing better!

And your talent rose to the top with the challenge. Fiery, steamy and a clean erotic poem leaving much to ones imagination (a good thing).

Nicely done...
Happy Easter, John

Opposites sure do attract and in this case, it seems, quite explosively. As your poem suggests, intensity of emotion can produce fireworks of all sorts. Love that burnt out ending!
