Thanks very much, Sonali. I'm sure your Dad is very happy to have you home with him during this time of solitude following your mother's passing. I hope it is beneficial for you both.

Much appreciate the review, my friend.

    Hugs, Bev

This is a well-executed, original and thought-provoking poem which was also a very entertaining read. The opening verses clearly show contrast and the ideas are cleverly presented with an interesting use of imagery and a precise choice of language. Thanks for sharing.

As if - this is just freestyle musings, it is a beautiful, thoughtful write about life and beyond and a very unique way you have styled this write. A lovely read, and gorgeous artwork by Eileen.

Hi, Pearl. Thank you so very much for taking time to read and review my post so generously. The encouragement is really appreciated!

I loved the artwork, too. Though one reviewer thought it didn't fit. But you can't please everyone.

Wow, Bev, what a profoundly different way of looking at life! I especially liked this - "As if we can change a minute of the years flung away or knit our actions into a proper suit..."
I see this as a spiritual poem; your meaning being that there is a higher power...
"As if justice has any connection with supernovas or exploding suns..."
We need to be fair in our actions, to look for truth; to seek to level what is not level (the world). That is how I interpret this stanza - that there is nothing spectacular about living in such a way...
I might be way off base, but I could interpret every stanza in this same light - the conclusion -
Cell regeneration - miraculous, in and of itself, and happening with no input or even awareness from us...as if! (we had anything to do with it!) Bravo, my friend! Brilliant!

Hi, Dawn. You are right on the money, my friend. I think people want to own the 'source' of many of life's miracles. They want to identify, deify and ultimately control these outcomes. I think Jesus spoke specifically to this issue when he said every hair on your head is counted. As you say here so well, 'there is nothing spectacular in living such a way.'

I really appreciate your wonderfully supportive and encouraging review, Dawn.

This is a great poem. I especially think "as if an urge to hate determines our fate" is relevant to what is going on in the world right now. I'm not quite sure I understand what you were talking about as far as bodily regeneration and a singular cell, though. That part went over my head a little. But, I still really like the poem.

Thank you, Natalie. I appreciate your very kind and generous review.

I feel that we try to push the ideas of miracles happening to certain people following certain rituals. When in fact, we have a constant miracle every 24 hours when our body completely regenerates on a cellular level. Hope that helps!

This is not a piece that one can do justice to with a single reading. So much to pondered here, not the least of which is your simple use of the phrase' "as if." I really admire the gentle flow of these lines you have penned. Well done.

Well you should know by now your thoughts resonate with me. A deep, complex mind penned this poem, Bev--one who knows that not only does she not have all the answers, but in the deepest sense there aren't any answers because the questions keep changing as we ignorantly transmogrify through our cells. Or are we all compositely a part of the changing Cosmic cell?

This is certainly one of the best things you've written, Bev.

    Hi, Jay

Ah, of course you would get this, Jay. We do often think along the same lines I think. I hope I never become callous to the stunning potential within my brain and running through my veins. I love the idea 'we are all compositely a part of the changing Cosmic cell!

Great to hear from you, and your support/encouragement is always so appreciated.

Hello Writingfundimension,

I bookcased this, because it's instructive, and because it's so profound that I'd like to return to it repeatedly. I think that each read will reveal a new insight, or trigger a new and/or different train of thought.

Wow. This is fantastic!

Keep writing,
Lana

Lovely as if poem. One of endurance and strength. Speak of justice. Death is a doorway for some. Some see this as way to escape their struggles and strife. A great poem if convictions. liberty justice

This writing sure resonated with me, I have known that the body that we inhabit is not the same body cell for cell that we had seven years ago. Every day our cells die and are replaced. Well done author with this poem.

I'm so glad this poem resonated with you, D. Science has often been vilified as being at odds with faith. For me, the more I learn of this miracle within which I reside and its vast untapped potential, the more awed and humbled I am. Thanks for your great review and for 'getting it'.
