Thank you for your photograph of the Guthrie Theater and your notes. Also, your explanation of the name of the form was much appreciated. I enjoyed your regular stanzas, rhymes and repeat. Cheers- Joan

Thank you very much Joan. An interesting building, with the new Vikings stadium going up just behind it.

Interesting form, I like it...it's kind of intricate, the way the rhymes are threaded through the poem. I like that you choose local places or artifacts for your poems, accompanied by your own photographs - it shows that poetry can be found in every day life, the common things we see and do. I've been to Minneapolis, a couple of times - once in winter (brrr!). I remember it as being a really beautiful city!

For someone like myself who has studied the dramatic art quite considerably, this sounds like a magnificent theatre. The poem has a fascinating form but I don't make the connection between ampel and vine. The only ampel I know of is the German for traffic lights. Lol.

I like the way the rhyme scheme weaves and your neat near feminine rhyme on the stressed syllables of Minneapolis and metropolis.

Hello Tom,
I wonder what Willy would have thought about this building?
It's certainly not very much in keeping with Shakesperean style, is it? Very much modern... What does the inside look like? I wonder why they chose Shakespeare to name it after? There are so many amazing modern writers/artists to name things after... ah well, people don't have much in the way of naming things after LIVING people, do they? We have to be dead to be appreciated.

Well, that's for another poem, isn't it? lol

I enjoyed your poem, Tom... interesting poem, and it certainly tells the tale... I think it has more charm than the building, actually. ;) lol
I hope you enjoyed your time, that was very thoughtful of your daughter.

Thank you Cat. Yes, I very much enjoyed it. It was a delightfully thoughtful gift. Ah, the building is round on the other side actually. So, the the main theater is in the round.

Very interesting history on the Guthrie. It is a wonderful treat to go to a theatre to watch a big play. It is also a great forn of poem well constructed.

This is a fun poem about what looks like and sound like a very large theatre. Is is older or newer?

Very good poem.
