I used to listen to Unshackled on the radio when we lived in Iowa. The program gets the message across loud and clear that God is bigger than the messes we get ourselves into and He loves us with an everlasting love.
What a wonderful poem you have penned to go along with your story! I will check out your unshackled story on their website.

I'm so glad I got to listen to your story! Did you really tell your soon-to-be husband you wanted to break the engagement? That was a pretty smart way to see if he would be abusive. I cried when he passed away. I got chill bumps (I have a friend who calls them glory bumps) when you got to talk to your son. You have an amazing story. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Heidi, I am glad you got to listen to my story.
I did tell my son to be husband I wanted to break the engagement, for the reason of finding out how abusive he might be when angry. I had to know that for me and any children we might be blessed with. Finding and talking to the son was amazing. Soon after that call we got to meet in person. We have see each other 5 different times. He is an amazing man and a man of good character. It has been 21 years since my husband passed away.
To file my story with unshackled was as it turns out a blessing in my life.

In fact, I'm putting together a medley of memories that one day, perhaps I'll publish. I enjoyed your beautiful poem, Thank You God for Using Me. I will be glad when the heat is over as I don't do well with heat. I am glad you enjoyed the unshackled story. Doing the writing I did for the script writer for my unshackled story was really quite a difficult time and I shed many tears as I wrote.

I hope the author also understands there are more than one way to a better life. I get the author believes the only way to "Heaven" is through Christ, but while we're here on Earth that is only one of the paths to self-improvement and ultimately fulfillment.

I don't know the author, but sometimes certain Christians believe the only way to happiness is to embrace their God, which is of course ridiculous.

But, those are my personal feelings, and as stated I don't know if the Author feels that way anyway. So, this is written well enough to easily deserve a 5.

Thanks for the review. I am a Christian and if I did not have my faith in God, I would probably not be alive today. My happiness is with God. As for others their happiness is up to them.
