Religion split my family to the point I moved from Tucson To Phoenix. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Thank you for your review and comments. It can be hard to face that kind of dichotomy.
Your sharing and encouragement mean a lot.

This could have been a really lovely story of a little girl and a kitten. But, you spoilt it with all the -a's. I truly don't know what you thought they would improve. As I said it could have been a really lovely story.

Thank you for your review and comments. I can see your point. I was caught up in telling a true story. Her speech anormaly was an integral part of my aunt and a source of disgust with my father. For me, to honor the truth of my memoir, I couldn't right her dialogue without them.
There is more explanation in the author's notes, but you may have already read it.

What a great story about a unique woman. I love how you set the scene with your parents arguing in the car about the upcoming visit. Then we meet Aunt Lorene whose eyes reach the narrator's soul. Wonderful characterization of EVERY character. We see and hear and even smell Aunt Lorene. We truly understand why these two hours are the best of LittleSis's year.

Thank you for your review, very kind comments and encouraging stars. Your insight lets me know I did my aunt justice. My aunt was 94 when she died, the firstborn of 12 siblings, and the last of them to pass. God saved the best for last!

This story was written more from your memory as non-fiction than fiction, either way the story was a good one and flowed very well.

Thank you for your review and comments. I had been thinking about writing about my aunt for a long time. I was happy to be able to do it as an entry in the Non-Fiction contest.

You did a great job writing this story about your aunt Lorene. She was a sweet soul and you seemed fond of her. Too bad your dad didn't like her just because she was always talking about God. I'm sure she sowed some good seeds in you. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story and memoir. I enjoyed reading this.

Blessings,
Anabella

Thank you so much for your review, insight and kind comments. Your encouragement means a lot. My dad was a 'bad boy' and my mother loved him for it. My aunt was an angel. It's funny the different paths folks choose to trod. But, it was my aunt who led me to God.

Oh..this is a wonderful story...It brought tears and I don't mind admitting it. She knew that the child needed this. You write very well. I am shocked at the pieces I am reading on this site and many are not receiving due accolades.

Thank you for your review, insights and kind comments. Encouragement, like yours, means so very much. I also have read many wonderful pieces of writing on FS. I find it encourages me to offer other people my comments and insight. We can help each other ... to learn from each other, to inspire each other. That part means almost as much to me as being able to share my own writing.
