Hello, Mikey,

I totally agree with you. Most of my reviews are positive and helpful, but once in a while, I get a bad review from someone who doesn't know anything about poetry or story writing. I don't like religious poems but I don't let my personal opinion get in the way of reviewing kindly and fairly, and I expect the same from others. A good friend of mine has been getting quite a few one or two-star rate because they don't like horror, or they don't like the pictures, really? Some people around here are ignorant and opinionated, the worse kind. I read Gloria's commentary about the same thing, I should write one too. I love writing haiku and a lot of people don't understand what haiku is but have no problem passing out unfair and ignorant judgment. I had a woman tell me that the reason she gave me a low score was because my poem was too small and didn't rhyme. LOL She was referring to my haiku. Anyway, I can go on and on but you have written it better. I should write one, you inspired me. Well done!

Yes, yes, yes! Do write one. Gman wrote one, that got Gloria to write one and that got me worked up. Hahaha! We're thinking the more the merrier. I know at least one other person is too. Yeah, man, these idiots who say a haiku is too short or doesn't rhyme. Jeeeeeeeezzzzzzzz. Enough to make you scream!!!! Bring it on Gypsy style. :)) Thanks for the great input. mikey

I completely agree with you, Mikey! There is a new element of obnoxious arrogance posing itself as honest opinion going around these days. There is nothing honest about it. I can't imagine any of us tolerating this kind of abuse. When we see it happened to others, speak out, don't let the bully get away with it.

There are many people here with all kinds of health issues and visual impairments and can't necessarily see a minor typo or small changes, but they are bravely pouring their hearts and minds onto the page and to be met with a low star review for no reason is like a punch in the stomach. How upset they must be to go to bed with some thoughtless person's poisonous words pouring through their heads. We are real people behind the screens, don't be mean.

It's always good advice to remind people not to jump on the bandwagon when they've heard a juicy bit of gossip. Don't accuse people of falsehoods and then harbour resentment toward them because you've mistreated them based on nothing more than a bit of juicy gossip.

Putting negative labels on people is abuse, pure and simple.

An honest review is NOT an opinion. There are incredibly good reviewers on the site, check out the work of those who are recognized and who are genuinely helpful, frank and caring.

Check your ego at the door and actually CARE about your fellows. Making these small changes will make FanStory a much more fulfilling and educational experience.

Good for you Mikey for writing this. Someone has to get the message out and I appreciate your lead.

You are an amazing and very caring person.

Gloria

I'm so pleased with your response. This is the heart I'm just too angry to add. I agree a million percent with every word you've written. I hope everyone who reads my words will then read yours. There are so many loving and caring people here. Just like you say many of them are fighting health issues and doing so with remarkable courage that should shame these thoughtless people who task them. It remains up to US to stand up. How shameful that this exists among a group of artists. Of all people WE should be more sensitive than the average person off the street, not less. So sad to see the powers of creativity abused and distorted for petty self gain and cheap ego boosts. Hell, what is this, the Pulitzer committee? I'm not at all surprised to see you respond first. You are no stranger to courage and integrity. Thank you so much for your response. You give me hope. Much love, michael
