I've forgotten who Anne is in the photo. She wasn't your older sister, was she? Though you didn't say it in your Author Notes, I assume the one your Mom was holding was Barb. Had she seen the photo? Who, in looking at it, couldn't see the love in your Mom's eyes? Very good post, Shari. Your mind seems to crackle analytically.

Yes, Anne is my older sister. Mom is holding Barb. The photo was taken by Dad. Appreciate your remark about love in Barb's eyes.
Ha,ha. I love to analyze human behavior.

yes, people like Barb don't hear the rest of the story and then create a narrative that keeps them stuck and full of grievances. It must have been tough always being in the middle of such anger and sadness. Great job.

Looking back, I was so busy with teaching and trying to mend fences with my daughter, that I don't recall letting it upset me. Maybe that's why I can write about it. :-)

Oh, my, I forgot that you, too, have had your troubles with your daughter. Busy with my teaching/tutoring is a great help to stay away from the drama.

G'day Shari. I have missed a bit during my abscenes due to lack of Internet here, sorry about that.

This is another powerful emotional chapter and I can see why it is tough going, as you say in the notes. You are correct about people only remembering the negatives, sadly that is so true. I think it is easier because they weigh more, for many people than positives do.

Hopefully I can keep up with you if the signal holds out here.

Great job mate.

Cheers Fez

Thanks for dropping by, Fez. I try to keep up with all my posts, but it's hard to find time. Internet problems would bother me so. Hope you are finding work to do.

Odd that you told us about Barb dying and now have gone back before that. Any reason? Too bad she couldn't just forgive and forget and try to make some kind of peace with your mom, now that she's dying.

I'm relating events as they happened. This was the first time Barb opened up to me in twenty years. She had serious issues that should have been discussed with a therapist a long time ago. Unfortunately, we lived at a time when doing so was a stigma and meant you were "crazy".

A good little story, I hope all is well with your sister and everything. There isn't anything to suggest. I am glad that sister has called and started talking to you again. I know how it feels when you are left out I am the youngest of 6 and I can count on one hand how many times my brothers and sisters has been at my house it sucks but hope one day we can make it through. Thanks for the read and Happy writing

Sounds as if you should all get together and have a group hug. Rake Mommy and Daddy over the coals while you're at it. LOL
