Since you felt nothing for this "adopted mother" why waste time, or even bother, attending this funeral?

Because it was the "politically correct" thing to do? And the show was important?

Story raises some age old questions regarding where loyalty to a person ends and when someone should start taking care of their needs, what everyone else around them thinks.

A total different story that happened eight years prior to The Quest where I find my real mother. So At the moment I am writing two different stories from my life. All the best. Ulla xx

The suspense caused by the collective gasp was alleviated with the final sentence.

This was very well done and I look forward to reading the next installment. There is one correction that I would personally make. In the second to last line, "I looked at the coffin ...and..well I felt nothing" There should really be spaces between the periods ( . . . ) I did the same thing in my stories and was corrected.
