I had never heard of "pancake ice wafers," but I could visualize them clearly with your description. I did not realize the Shadorma has Spanish origins, but it is a good choice for your theme. Your photograph reminds me of a Monet painting! Cheers- Joan

Thank you Joan. I wish it was worth as much as a Monet. Thank you Joan.

Hi Tom, I have to admit that I've never heard of the Shadorma or Spanish haiku, but doesn't it work well, A lot more interpretation is allowed in this form my friend.

Tom,

This is a interesting form of poetry that --again -- I've never seen. Your form follows the syllable count that you shared perfectly and also describes an image that lingers. I think the artwork is beautiful as well. Great job!

I have come across this style before but did not know that its name was "shadorma" or anything about it, so thanks for adding to my education on that score. Neither, may I add have I ever seen pancake ice in the flesh before. Amazing photography.

Thank you Pantygynt. I've only seen it here on Lake Superior in the U.S. I would guess they'd get it in Norway and Greeland. It needs waves, very cold water, and a rocky shore.

This is an amazing winter structure. Some of the really very pretty things can bee seen in winter. Ice is probably one of those amazing things. ice can be so very dangerous though. Patricia
