You did an excellent job writing a poem about a topic of importance. Depending upon where you live, you may never even see railway tracks, so it's important to remind people of this potential problem.

An interesting form which I haven't seen before. If we are being nit-picking about syllables, I would point out that line 2 of the second stanza appears to have only 5 The alternating rhyming is a nice extra touch.

Of course railroad companies are in it for the money, so it must be tempting to skimp on maintenance - accidents will happen.

When I first saw this I thought oh a double diamante - a double diamond was a brand of beer in this country some years ago. You have I believe let US railways deteriorate because the passengers (they're the ones who keep things safe) have deserted rail vfor air or road travel.

Britain is mostly too small to bother with air travel and the train is still number one choice for most longer journeys. Our tracks don't have time to rust over.

Hi, Treischel,
"Railroad Roulette" is an excellent poem calling attention to a dangerous situation, the deterioration of the railroad tracks. which can lead to catastrophe and environmental degradation. It is only one instance of the deterioration of infrastructure; highways, gas and oil pipelines, and bridges which are in serious need of repair cab lead to dangerous environmental and disruptions and serious loss of life. As usual you have introduced an unusual form which you have mastered completely. The figurative language; "clickity clicks," "devils dare" "rail road roulette" fresh and excellent.
Your friend and colleague,
Preston

Thank you Lreston. I agree, there are nancy needs in infrastructure. We seem to rather want to build sports stadiums for Billionaires.

It is a freaking devil's dare. So many bridges, including railroad treaties, are on the low end of passing inspection, some sure failures and there is still no passage of funding for infrastructure. Thanks for bringing it to light in Verse.

Near Minnesota! I have a son living in Rochester! Dramatic account of a very dangerous bridge, heavens! Favorite line: "It's such a Devil's dare." Something needs to be done.!

It's well known our infrastructure needs serious revitalizing in this country. Some progress has been made, but not enough. It's very frightening to know that dangerous chemicals are being transported on aging rails and bridges.

Thanks for bringing this serious situation to our attention through verse. As always, you deliver the message very skillfully.

Hi Tom,
It's only a matter of time before we've bore so many holes in our planet that it implodes and decides that 'this bra doesn't fit and I'm not going to do this anymore'

yeah... that.
;)
well done,
Cat
