Oh I liked the lyrics a lot. I can almost hear these words being set to music. A great
country and western perhaps. I enjoyed. All the best. Ulla

I really like the flow of this one. if you wouldn't mind i have a cousin/also close friend of mine that I would love to share some of your work with. She is big time into country music. She would be very imppressed with your work. whenI read your lyrics i keep imagining the music.

"Texas and teardrops and neon light
I lost your love on a Lone Star night"
Is a great refrain to be sung
The glue of the song
Texas is a big place to be alone
list'n to cattle all night long
In the hands of the right singer,
this would be a successful pop song
Well done

This has no chance of ever being a Pop song.

    Country music yes.

    Pop NEVER!

No offense meant. As a long time fan of country music, I feel country and pop merged long ago with Garth Brooks and dozens of others. Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and hundreds crossed back and forth. The great Chet Atkins, my favorite guitarist play both all the time.
    Excellent "country" song!

This poem has the feel of wild, wild west and the picture reinforced that emotion. The poem speaks of a romance set against the backdrop of the Texas adventure, rodeos and ladies meeting their cowboys, but with a sad ending. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant work my friend, would love to hear it with music.
Sad tale that lets the reader feel the loneliness of lost love and the search for where it might have been left

hugs

What a great song. I can see this sung by someone like Marty Robbins, Glen Campbell or maybe even Willie Nelson. It is definitely a country music melody.
Good job. Have you had someone look at your lyrics to put to music?

Hi, Brett

_ Texas, teardrops, and a neon light, indeed makes a country song for sure.
_ Love the artwork as well. Nicely presented.
_ Enjoyed the read.

Oh my goodness I can feel the emotion in this piece and I love the Amarillo and Laredo reference.
Very well done and a great song to hear as I wish I could.
