I like how you cover the three dark mysterious bird so: the Raven, the Grackle, and the Crow. You paint the picture of a mysterious gathering of dark forces. The subtitles of their sounds are recorded in caws, murmurs, and disintegrating decorum. I relish the understatement.

Cat,
I am sorry I don't have any sixes left. I am going to try to write one for Mr. Dean too. You did a fabulous job. Congrats.
Hugs,

Hi I am Cat,

I don't know how people manage to get all the things they have to do, done... and then find time to read, write, review, on top of it. I could use a few extra hours in the day. But for the first time in days, I feel like I can stop and assign the full amount of braincells needed to do more than nibble on a poem, as I worry I've been constantly running out the door. Which I was giddy because that this poem was the one I got to apply all my braincells in the quiet of a house that hasn't been quiet in days, and I enjoyed it so very much.

The threads of my core really strummed to this poem. I loved the parallel theme of pretty much every formal meeting I've ever attended, you captured all the catch words so right on, and merged it into the dark forest, ominous imagery of the crow and darker tones.

noted by the recorder
(about this time I was appreciating the smoothness of the theme... the appeal, in use with deals, meetings... And what meeting is complete without signing in with the one writing everything thing down!)

disintegrating decorum
(The acrobatics of the tongue in conjunction with alliteration caused all kinds of activity for me, in my brain... I loved this image, a pleasingly complicated arrangement to say, which is also sparking all the ruckus of flapping around excitement from these birds in a meeting)

Crows satisfy their quorum!
(And this is where my heart leapt with how you managed to smoothly (for me) rhyme quorum, and keep with the parallel theme. And the multiple meanings of crows in a quorum. I'll think of this anytime I hear the question... do we have a quorum! ever again. )

Really appreciated the interconnection of meanings, imagery, and sounds through this poem, atop of all the complicated acrobatics. Really well done with this.

    Turtle,
This is truly the review to end all reviews... I can't even explain probably, how much it means... I just love the way you engage both sides of your brain to let me know exactly all that you're feeling and I know I know that i've told you over and over how much it means... but it truly does... No one else on this site does it the way you do... Jay Squires and I were just talking about your reviews earlier tonight and we were both singing your praises... so it's not just me. And Jay should know...he's pretty amazing himself. Thanks so much for this Turtle.. .I am ever grateful for you

You've got your s's, c's and g's alliterating murderously
just like those sneaky crows
Gaslight Conspiracy should be the title
It would be a great title of a murder mystery story as well
Can't get much better than grackles, ravens and crows, Oh my!
In a perfect presentation: great picture and gaslight font
in the blackest black of night
Wonderful addition to the book
Well done

The art work send an eerie feeling of murderous deceit and the crows as the visual image of that is perfect and will amplify more the point you intend for the readers. Thanks for sharing with us, this well penned poem.

Brilliant use of graphics and imagery. You set up the three black birds as members of a macabre gathering of panelists, or Trustees. Setting about, presumably to commit a heinous act. Well done,
Hugs,
Rhonda

Oooh...what are these wicked ones up to? Mayhem in the darkest part of the woods. I love this sequel, Cat. You have chosen the perfect words and set the sinister mood once again for this continuation. I did not know that a flock of crows was called a murder. How very devilish. Thank you for the author notes; I learned something and I love to learn new things especially words. This is delightfully daunting. Good work. Have a wonderful day! Big warm hugs to you!

lol, Did you read the first one I wrote? 'Who Done It?' it didn't quite get into Dean's book, as I hit the wrong button and it ended up out of the book, so someone suggested I write a sequel... so now there is a Who Done It? and a Who Done It, The Sequel. LOL
(the first one explains the murder... but it's an attempted murder as they can only get TWO crows to show up for the meeting. lol)

I find this kind of genre sort of fun to write to, but I suppose I'm having a bit TOO much fun in it for it to be too scary, eh? LOL

Order, there must be order. Let the proceedings be orderly. Dastardly deeds occur much more effectively if there is order during the planning of the procedures. There may not be honor among thieves, but there should be order. Let everything proceed in an orderly manner, just before all hell breaks loose. I am enjoying these stories, keepem' coming, m'dear.

Well said with awesome imagery. Great subject the crows and to have a murder of them flying about. They fit right into criminal law. Glad you got into Dean's Den of Doom
